There was a big hoopla in part 2 as well, Crispin Glover (George McFly) wouldn't commit to it so they had to rewrite the script and re-used existing footage of him. He didn't get credited or paid for that, nor did they have his permission to use his likeness, he sued, lost the case but it's now against SAG rules to do that.
Also the main reason they couldn't get MJF at first, Meredith Baxter was on Mat leave and the producers of Family ties didn't think the show would work with 2 members of the main cast down. A few weeks later when things weren't working out with Eric Stoltz they asked again, by then Meredith was back and they reluctantly agreed but only if they could work around MJF to the point it didn't hurt the show and he agreed. Brutal schedule. I hear he went from 10am-2am most days.
Not sure if I told you guys before or not, but Michael J. Fox got married one town over where I live in Vermont at the West Mountain Inn, in West Arlington. My friend Mary Ann Carlson owned it at the tine as well.
Glad you did a laugh reaction, it is better to watch you reacting to stuff I have already seen. #2 is my favorite of the trilogy.. and 2 and 3 were filmed back to back, not at same time. the upside down father in 2 was not original father, thats why they had him upside down so could not recognize.

The first film is definitely the best. Rarely does it occur that a sequel upstages an original. I'm surprised "To Be Contondered" was not included in the compilation.
Funniest rabbit hole fact around Eric Stoltz being originally cast as Marty in the Back to the Future is that in The Fly II, in which Eric starred later (1989 I think), his name is Marty. Marty mcFLY! Get it? There are also some scenes available here on RU-vid with Eric cast as in Back to the Future.
Eric Stoltz was cast as Marty but after a couple of weeks the director decided he wasn't right and went with Michael J. Fox his first choice but MJF was not able to star in the movie because of a scheduling conflict. So they waited for him to finish that project.
Well shoot. I guess I have to go watch the Back to the Future series. My favorite is part one, but I really do like them all. Family Guy did them well.
Part one great, but I was born in 86 so I watched part 3 most often. I used to set up my train set on my bed and let the train run off the edge to recreate the ending scene.
