I always hated how everyone is always against Carl, especially his mom. He woke up and saw a huge ass bug on him and naturally freaked out. Mostly anyone would do the same. It was Steve's dumb fault for always trespassing into their home and bringing misfortunes to Carl. Carl should have at least apologized to Steve and been firm never letting Steve in the house unless invited.

Just to give you an idea, Steve said he spent about $487 on this insect. In 2023 that amounts to the equivalent of $1,015.00 from 1991 when this episode aired. Yes this bug was incredibly expensive. I go to reptile shows and have kept reptiles for over 20 years and even among the tarantulas, mantids and centipedes that I have seen for sale the most expensive one that I have seen was only about $400 though I have heard of them max out at about $800 depending on the species.

Actually the bug didn’t come out of the box until Eddie and Waldo took the lid off of the box. Steve was trying to find it and put it back into the box to avoid this.
Steve shouldn't have paid $487 for a bug and he should have been watching Pablo. If Steve was paying better attention, Pablo wouldn't have gotten loose in the house. I don't blame Carl, he has no idea what kinds of diseases Pablo is carrying or if he's poisonous. That bug was strong enough to lift and move a lamp for crying out loud.

No true judge would grant you a verdict for a dead bug someone else owned that was roaming free in your home! That's insane. If you want a bug pet alive, then you must keep it from getting free to be someone else's problem and out of their way! It falls in the exotic pets category, it's one of those kjII on site animals and be justified. An exotic pet must be secured! Normal pets have to provoke self-defense/protection for you to kjII them, because they are the going rate for pets. Exotic pets are not meant to be pets. That's the difference!
