To be more precise she didn’t just stand up for Steve she stood up for herself. She’s absolutely right no one tells you who you canning can’t hang out with
I love how Laura never put up with any toxicity from a man. She grew up seeing how Carl treated Harriet and knew that’s how a woman should be treated. She never allowed herself to be put in any compromising situations with a man. Laura had her s*** together even as a teenager.
@thechosenone7875. Whatever 🙄. Laura was just like every other girl who friend zoned the nerd/nice guy and n the end... got with him when she finished riding the carousel.
I’m glad that Laura stood up for herself (and Steve) and ending things with Jimmy because I have this feeling that Jimmy would go from being a good boyfriend to an abusive boyfriend to Laura if she stayed with him
@@arturovillegas1128 Yeah. And Carl would probably get some hits in himself. He did TRULY lose his shit for a second when Eddie was beaten up by The Dragons.
She does it a 2nd time against Alison in Revenge of the Nerd and refuses to join the sorority until they changed their policies around the unpopular kids including Steve.
She stood up for herself, not just her friend. The young man she dumped, probably would be abusive, had their relationship continued. She's better off, and he needs a whuppin'.
Team steve and team laura forever this scene is for all the hater's saying laura didn't care about steve this scene proves them all wrong and even at the end of the episode they shared a beautiful hug in their pajamas!!!
His behavior was textbook narcissism. Telling her who she can't see and hang out with, belittling her opinions and seeing her only as a trophy and not as a person.
I was a kid and I had a crush on this woman, I never seeen such a beautiful woman before like that. You can feel her upbringing and her father, no diddy.
Although there were times when Laura really pissed me off with the way she treated him, at the end of the day between Steve, Laura and even Eddie and Carl ..it was always that dynamic or principle behind how long all of them really knew each other. In a way, he was a longtime friend when you look at how young they all were when Family Matters first even aired. So to that degree I always respected that
A lot of the times was justifiable because Steve was coming over when he wasn't wanted and all the Winslows wanted was for him to respect their personal boundaries. Laura also wanted him grow up and stop stalking her. He blew off her wishes thinking his ways were working and never truly got the hint until season 5 rolled around. Steve later found what life was like as the Winslows with Myra stalking him relentlessly and invading his personal space. She took the lesson a step further by forcibly having sex with him in his locker, spying on him by drawing him naked in his room and demanding commitment from him. In turn, Steve reflected on himself and realized how annoying he is to everyone in general. Once he accepted he needed to do some growing up, that when he matured. After agreeing to go steady with Myra in the end of season 6's Paradise Bluff, she calmed down considerably and began to mature herself. Steve was less attached to the Winslows because she kept him distracted from his own issues with his family. With him committing to Myra, Laura was able to relax and go on normal dates. In turn, Steve's relationship with the Winslows and everyone else improved because he wasn't annoying them as much. People often forget that Myra played an important role in Steve's maturity. Without her being introduced in midway season 4 and being stalked in season 5, he would've remained the same persistent, immature, annoying and obsessive stalker he was to Laura. Because of Myra, Steve made those positive changes in his behavior.
Social media era depression and suicides is at a all time high.. It should be tv shows like this televised daily challenge bullying.. Episodes like this helped me get through some hard times growing up.. kids can be very cruel.
I grew up with no social media. When friends weren't around, it was utterly lonely. At least now kids can always reach out or find someone to talk with.
For anyone who might not have been aware, before this show got cancelled, they already had season 10 mapped out. They wrote it to follow through with Steve and Laura getting married, and eventually cap it off with them having a daughter. You find out a lot of cool stuff from the show when you watch all these little interviews from the cast years later. In an interview, Marie Jo Payton said that one time Jaleel White wanted to fight her- like physically 😂😂 and Reginald Vel Johnson said that White could be difficult at times, but that at the end of the day, there was never like FEUDS- just people getting annoyed and going back to work and forgetting about it. I guess it wasn't like a toxic environment.
Nothing’s ever as bad as media likes to blow it up as. At the end of the day, these people are working for a paycheck, and like any job you’ll have coworkers you have trouble tolerating. I can’t think of a few times myself I’d like to go to blows with someone, and I work in a nursing home which is a very stressful environment.
The Show got canceled due to Michelle Williams being terminally ill with Stomach Cancer. They decided not to go forward with a 10th season out of respect for her.
Steve and Lauren been there for each other no matter what he is the nerd getting on her nerves he always there when she need him he is caring kind smart sweet and always annoying at least he cares have a very big heart
That’s what makes Steve the better person, he was always respectful of Laura, even when she regularly turns him down and would always defend her honor when other guys wanted to date her with ulterior motives.
On second thought, everyone is still round. Laura, Eddie, Carl, Harriett, and Steve- they have the core cast. They could still do a reboot, like Full House did.
Steve will have his own business, Laura and Steve will have kids, Eddie would be married and will be in sports, Carl will be the police commissioner. That sounds like a reboot to me.
@rommelthedesertfox3089 nobody said anything about putting up boundaries the problem is he was telling Laura not to be talking to Urkel even when she knew and was talking to him for years
@@jenn5628 those are called boundaries.and he was right to do so. If ur in a relationship then u shouldn’t be talking to or hanging out with the opposite sex and that goes for both the man and woman. It’s inappropriate. Funny how when the man puts up boundaries u call it “controlling”
@rommelthedesertfox3089 as if you men don't be speaking to women on the side that you've been friends with for years before you started dating a woman. Speak up for the men who do that. You're muted...
Yeah but she also gave Steve respect. She acknowledge that Steve has always been there for her in spite of him being a pest so She stood not just for herself but in a way Steve as well.
Originally, Steve was supposed to be a one-off portraying the worst possible dud of a date Carl could have happened to arrange for Laura. He didn't just steal the scene he stole the show as the breakout character. Jaleel White is a comic genius.
Yep, abuse often starts off small, which is why it's better to nip it in the bud/stop it in its tracks. Darnelle in Beauty Shop movie went off on her Boyfriend when he lightly grabbed her arm when she turned to leave. Posters replied something like,"Isn't Darnelle overreacting? All her boyfriend did was lightly grab her arm." Posters responded,"Abuse usually starts off small, like a light arm grab. Darnelle saw that and immediately told him off." 💡🤔
