As soon as you reach the airport in Jamaica your body feels different. It’s an energy. My children expressed this feeling and recently my grandkids commented on this feeling.
Absolutely! It's such a great feeling ALL the time. There is no place like home and after living in the USA for over 42 years I can still say that. Wow! My wishes and desire is to see our little paradise one day free from crime and killing so we all can retire or visit and stay for longer periods of time. I know there are crimes and killing everywhere, but when it comes to our little island it seems much scarier than other places . So let's hope that the government is taking notice. Blessings to all!
I see how your wife looks at you as you speak and it really shows that you’re admired from the core. Best wishes to you two and I pray that God continues to shine his light upon your family.
I really enjoyed this video! My grandparents were born in Kingston, Jamaica, myself in Toronto. Jamaican culture is so rich and the country deserves the diaspora to return and become part of the positive change. I’ve dreamed to be part of this one day. Canadians moving to Jamaica is such a positive vibe. Thorps channel is a step in the right direction!
The big question of “WHY DON’T WE ALL COME HOME?” We all want to right down to our core but we are afraid - who is going to do something about the crime? It is so scary hearing about how our people handle conflict, poverty and struggle buy killing each other…WHY? How do we overcome the fear and help to contribute to a solution to the crime? We won’t come home unless we feel safe.
I always think ,if all the jamaicans who wish to return were feeling comfortable in returning just think how the economy would flourish and and that would be a good thing for everyone, even for the benefit of the struggling. the government needs to see that vision and work on the issue that keeps people away. Who is brave enough to see the vision and deal with the matter . the matter of crime or do we just arm everyone to defend demselves from the criminals dem.
Well said all these videos are nice but living in “the real” Jamaica is much different most families can’t even pay”$30,000 for basic school this is not but it not reality this is for the 1 percent
I am from Canada and have visited Jamaica 9 times. Both Mobay and Negril. My favorite place is Negril. I took my mother there and we stayed at Travelers. My mother absolutely loved it and wants to go back one day. All i know is from the first time i visited Jamaica i absolutely loved it. Its like no other place i have ever visited. It always felt like i was meant to be there. It felt comfortable. I have traveled with family, friends as well as by myself and each and every trip was amazing. The last time i was there was 2017. I got to go to Reggae Sumfest and had the time of my life. That is the ultimate for reggae festival. I had a fabulous time.
Throp, keep these stories coming. Jamaica is my happy place. When I get off that airplane and I clear customs, I am the most peaceful person. I cannot wait to come back home. All I know is that I want to provide a service when I return to live. I love this couple's story. I can appreciate their desire to move there.
Ashamed to say I am one of those and I have a myriad of reasons but it is my biggest regret I had made so many plans to return but it never happened, and now at 76 I have no family there.
@@danglorules as long as you have life & you are in good health, you can still achieve your goals..I too would love to live in Jamaica 🇯🇲 one day ..God willing 👏🏾🙏🏾
Many don't want to go back to Jamaica because the lifestyle in Jamaica is the same abroad. Many of the ones running down now have cheated ( LAW OF ATTRACTION) to enrich themselves and their families.
Jamaica 🇯🇲 land we love 💕, amazing place to live and raise children, sweet sweet Jamaica 🇯🇲, I can’t wait to return and live, blessings to all who wants to return home 💕💞🇯🇲🤩
Seeing your video today was a God send. You have a new subscriber. I also want to relocate back home to Jamaica but was starting to rethink. This was my confirmation to keep going towards that goal. Thanks to you and this beautiful family🙏🏾
Love this video, left Jamaica at the age of 6yrs . All my life I wanted to return to beautiful Portland Jamaica but school, university, family , work etc always got in the way of making that step. Throp keep doing what your doing, you are showcasing Jamaica and I love it !!
Born in PORTLAND where the Birth of the original RAFTING began....MARTINS TOUR with big black AMERICAN fish tale cars brought the TOURIST with their straw baskets with their LUNCHES...
I meant I have always contemplated repatriation back to beautiful Jamaica , before covid I travelled to Jamaica on a regular basis love my country ..,, already booked my trip for this year .... cant wait , 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
I totally agree about the banking system in Jamaica it is ridiculous!!! I am building a house down there and I am having so much trouble with the bank. They need to see my bank statements and when they do I have to report to them how I came by my money. I live and have been working in the United States for over 30 years so I should be able to deposit and withdraw money without being looked at as a scammer! It's frustrating!
READ my comment and experience ..hope your frustration will be comforted..Oh the Bank insisted on seeing the contract with the Tennant inorder to accept the direct Deposits
@@eileenwatt8283 illegal business happens in every country not Just Jamaica. Jamaica Banks are the worst. I despise them. I worked hard all my life and don't need to feel like a thief/scammer everytime I tried to get money. But people. Ask around, do your research there are legal ways you can get your money without the disrespect and hassle in the banks. Keep your money in the country where you work it. Take a check to the Chinese store and cash what you need. This way we are absolutely no benefit to the country all those foreign exchange will go right back to China supporting their economy. I refused to be treated like a thief
I always said that about the banks in Jamaica. The punitive bank rules are imposed by the international banking community, and yet when I am in Canada, a bank account took me only 20 minutes to open. The entire System in Jamaica is a slave for the major countries.
I really enjoyed your recounting your daughter’s birth. I remember my nephew telling me that when he watched his wife in labor he felt sorry for her but on the other hand he was glad he was not feeling that pain.
This is a beautiful couple. His wife seems so loving and respects him so much. Their chemistry is amazing. I loved how they were friends first. For sure they'll grow well together.
Love this! Big up to your guests and big up to you Winthrop for doing an amazing job shining the light on Jamaica.. I'm a forever fan. Blessings all the way from China. Travellers Beach is one of my absolute favorite places to be when I'm home.
I relate to her a lot as a Canadian born person that's also connected back to my Caribbean 🇹🇹 (Trini) heritage from childhood to adulthood going back 2 the islands. Learning outside the "North American" ways of life has always been important 2 me. I lived in Toronto as well, did my formal education there but now I'm travelling to other places + learning from different cultures. Could have stayed in Canada but the world was calling. Enjoyed their story!
Great interview, beautiful family and I love their story! I had an hour to spare this morning and the time was well spent listening to this inspiring conversation.
What a powerful interview. Claudius, Iman and you were a joy... and Claudius hit on a big message around the soul of Jamaica being what's missing from many other places. Love the representation and connectivity of your works here!
I enjjoyed this interview with these returnig residents .I could feel the positive vibration flowing between the couple. Let the world know that Music is Love and Love is Music.Welcome home.
That delivery story had me spitting out my water 🤣 . I was not prepared. Glad everyone made it out unscathed & baby girl looks great. All the children look great as a matter of fact.
Everyday I have a new idea..its crazy how much comes to you once your here...I see myself sitting there talking to Thorp in the near future...build the community IM IN! - be apart of the change. . Jamaica has too much potential!
God bless you brother nothing is greater than you fulfilling your purpose and destiny for the king of King and Lord of Lords. The talent God has given us is not only about gaining fame and fortune for yourself but about changing nations and bringing light out of darkness.
Omg this discussion and interview was so amazing, I watch the show, and listen to everything to the very end. It was so enjoyable, Dad your is a Great Father!! very good 👍 at catching babies lol.You might have to come catch mine too Lol ha ha.You have me cracking up at the end of your show, You and your little Circle Welcome back to JAMAICA!! No way no better than yard, JAMAICA is a special little piece of Island on this planet,There's something special about our Country" All is needed good Governance, Love, Peace Unity, and live good with one another and all will be fine. Blessings always!!Blessings to the England's Family 👨👩👧 👪 peace out.
The way she looks at her man when he speaks is an indication of she loves and admire this man, I feel a bit jealous because my woman does not look at me that way, I have no doubt she loves me but she does not express it this way outward.
@@shirmelduggins9984 This is not a tit for tat competition, I am merely admiring the chemistry and the affection of the lady on the show towards her man, I didn't see the same back to her when she speaks, But that doesn't mean he doesn't feel the same, its just that some people expressed themselves differently and I am just pointing it out. The fact that you stated I should ask myself if I looked at my woman when she talks clearly shows you are missing my point.
Since subscribing to this channel I've been so motivated to make the move from 🇨🇦 in a few years. Great interviews, keep up the great work Winthrop! 🇯🇲 till mi dead!!!!!
I agree it's finding like-minded people. I've been watching your channel and not commenting; however, I want to take the time to appreciate you. I was born in Jamaica and migrated when I was a child, and I long to be back a mi yard. Sadly, family is not always the best resource to help when it comes to getting things established in Jamaica, and that's where your channel comes in for me. You are doing an excellent job!! Thank you. I'm grateful.
thank you thank you! I really appreciate your kind words. It means so much to know that my channel is able to bring you value in this manner. I will do my best to keep content of this nature coming. Thank you for your comment. It really means a lot to me
Wow wow wow! Right up my alley...I would love to share my experience on this platform I also live in Calgary Canada ...also an artiste born Jamaican I can't seem to be contented anywhere else but yawd. My whole family and I also my sister and her family are in transition mode as well ro return to Jamaica... we can definitely relate to this.. thanks forsythia story also for sticking to this Throp.. awesomeness 👌
I loved this. I would love to live half the year down there and half here. I went to visit and sent money and I went to pick it up and it was so annoying lady literally did not want to give me my money. She asked so much. I waited over 40 minutes to get 5000 and it was so easy for me to send it. I sent it in my own name and went to go pick it up myself. We went to the bank to deposit some and another hell 😩. Swear I make enough money and find the right job I’m coming back to do it. Build Jamaica. Love Jamaica. Love the food. 🇯🇲🇨🇦.
Power couple with a purpose, awesome. I think Reclaim Territory is an awesome vision and it will impact the world, I pray for things aligning for its success. Very enlightening and inspiring interview, no need more persons to think like this. Awesome school you're sending your son to, from a Munro College Old Boy
Awwwwwww love this and they are my fellow Canadians..the birth story wow..Big up to Claudius..Iman you rock sis..Will check out there sites..one love Throp..another great Show
I'm loving this podcast experience, I implore you to continue to have people on your show highlighting the rush happening in Jamaica. I believe all of us around the world who migrated to foreign countries come to the realization that Jamaica is truly heaven on earth. The rush that I'm referring to is that whether you are born citizens of Jamaica or Jamaican descent or citizens from foreign countries that wants that healthy lifestyle, a better way of living and less stressful lifestyle chose to migrate to Jamaica. This rush is remarkable, having knowledge first hand after visit three times in a couple months highlights the massive development happening in Jamaica. It is paramount that people understand what's happening, Jamaica is on a path to a 21st century lifestyle and way of living and Priminister Andrew Holness is working overtime building the country. From coast to coast people are building and moving back, its unprecedented, also, social media, shows like yours are highlighting Jamaica in all her Glory. As the song would say, "No way no better than yard".
Wow 👌🏾 I totally enjoyed this vlog Throp..Your channel is so inspiring. Well done to this couple for fulfilling their Jamaican dreams 👏🏾 🙌🏾 ❤️❤️🆙️🆙️🇯🇲🇬🇧
I really enjoyed the interview with this couple. Just like them both, I couldn't see myself living anywhere else. There really is no place like Jamaica. I lived in Canada for almost 50 years and moved back over a year ago. I live in Kingston as it's my birth parish and it's familiar. I'm a retired social worker and an author. My novel is "A Way to Escape," a story of a Jamaican (my) mother, who fled her abusive husband for Canada, leaving her 4 children with her mother. My second novel, part 2, is about my mother's journey in Canada as a domestic, to be published Fall of 2024, by Jamaica's own, LMH Publishing. Keep up the good work, your interviews are inspirational!
This was a very good conversation. Agree totally some systems need changing, e g. Long lines at banks, government buildings, businesses like Flow company, eradicate the corruption, eliminate illiteracy, gear people to self -reliance, entrepreneur and build together. Promote nationalism, nation building and that will lower the crime rate. Encourage legal competition, inventors. Educate Educate
Throp you and this family need to link up with Errol and Swaggy from The Stephens Family. They are definitely like minded. You guys can link up and do big things
