I shop my pantry/fridge, freezer and make a menu with what I already have that way it saves me so much time and money.

@@TCJ24116 She is making sure she has enough for her family to live off for a month if COVID ever hit us again like it did in 2020. People tend to think it wont happen again...who's to say it wont. COVID taught her to have a back up grocery store as it did many other people. I have just as much in my back up pantry as she does. Stop judging what you only see a few minutes of. And remember she has ALOT of teens who all play sports and their friends who all love to eat. Have you ever tried feeding that many teens on a daily?

@TCJ24116 Yikes!?!? Why all the negativity? Many homes/households keep a full pantry or food storage. Bad things can and do happen, like power outages, natural disasters, civil unrest, etc. If you're not prepared for that, you've done a bad disservice to your family. I imagine it's taken them a while to get to the point where grocery bills aren't as worrisome as they once were. She's got over a million subscribers on RU-vid. You've seen her kitchen. It isn't fancy, but it serves the purpose. This indicates they don't spend lavishly on creature comforts. Buying groceries for 13 people would be expensive, yes. Also, she seems to buy some products that diminish the prep work, which are a little spendy. But every minute she saves in prep time, are minutes she gets to spend with her family. It might be a trade-off monetarily, but you have no idea of what their grocery budget is, so please try not to be judgey.

I think it has something to do with taxes? I’m not really sure how it works in the US since i’m from Europe.. but here we also have a price with taxes and a price without taxes..

The unit price would be one thing like $1.50 per lb. So if you get 2 lbs your cost would be $3.00. Or like for canned food the unit price my be $0.20 per ounce so a 10 ounce can would be $2.00.

@@sarahruckert4288 It’s not just to compare different brands, but also different sizes of the same brand, to help determine which is the best deal. If you check the unit price you can determine if it would be cheaper to buy one 20 oz can or two 10 oz cans or maybe if one brand is cheaper then another brand. Hope this helps.

She just mentioned why when she picked up the soup..🤦🏻‍♀️ anytime you use up any item in your pantry it’s a good idea to replace it to keep in rotation especially if you know you cook with it all the time. Everyone buys and keeps a back stock of different from others. It’s never a good idea to just run out of food because you never know what might happen .

To summarize…..some of their kids were food compromised in previous placements and the food shortages during Covid were very triggering. She and Josh decided that their kids would always be able to see that there is enough food ALWAYS. She goes through and checks things for expiration. And if her family decides they don’t like something she donates it. Number 2…..if she knows she’s using up her storage item, she buys a replacement. I do that as well. That is most of what she has said time and time again. I will not enter a back and forth about this. I’m simply explaining

I thought so too, but last week when shopping for Memorial Weekend I noticed ALOT of the fruit is in pear juice and not in their own juices

It is primarily a regular grocery store, but they do have a significant amount of bulk size items -- not as much as Costco or Sam's, but considerably more than most conventional supermarkets.

Watermelon season starts May

Yes it is watermelon season. They are half the price and so good.

Peak is July & August. That’s when you’ll find the best watermelons for the best prices. You can technically get them now but they won’t be as good as in a couple months
