Family of Amazon worker presumed dead in Edwardsville tornado gathers to grieve 

Look at those cars. I can't imagine the damage to those poor souls. That's heartbreaking.

This just further proves that the managers, bosses and CEOs of corporations see us as nothing more than disposable. This is disgusting.

Larry Virdin was my cousin and it is not fair that ha has to go I love you Larry I know you are in a better place now stay good my man love you I will never forget when we took a walk in the park and he hugged me and I said see you some other time thinking that I would see him the next day, then I watched the news and it said he passed away in the amazon building that it shows and I love you Larry you are a legend 😭😭

Word is coming in that Amazon would not allow their employees to leave. I'm never using Amazon again in my life. I hope the managers and bosses at that warehouse are held accountable and put in prison for a very lengthy stay.

It’s unreal that he still hasn’t been found the magnitude of that storm was unreal. Just knowing a loved one’s body could be any where and not brought home is terrifying.

WTF wouldn’t Amazon let them leave? I would rather try and get away then be a sitting duck.

As an ex Amazon employee, it doesn't surprise me ONE BIT that the managers didn't let them leave. Amazon warehouse are modern work camps. They work you for a grueling 11hrs a day, time your every movement, and come around hourly with a report on how fast you worked in the last hour, and advise you to move faster or you'll be terminated. Imagine the incredible stress of working there. I've watched grown men break down and cry in the middle of the warehouse because they were getting terminated for "not working fast enough". The sad thing is, the speed goals they want you to achieve is impossible. The turn over rate for employees is 85% a week. YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT. The average length of an Amazon employee is ONE WEEK. Many people quit on thier first day once they realize how hard the work actually is. They also make sure to fill thier warehouses with ex convicts, and people on unemployment who they know they can manipulate with fear of losing work. And the managers totally get off on the power trip. Amazon can now add "murderer" to its list of evil business practices. Why on earth do we allow this company to do this to people?

When you're a BILLION DOLLAR company and don't want to spend an extra thousand dollars to keep these workers safe. Especially in a tormado part of the country is absolutely INEXCUSABLE!!! My heart and prayers go out to the families and friends affected by this.

So unfair Amazon wasn't letting these workers leave and because of that many are dead! There must be a law that prevents employers from holding employees when a disaster hits because I've seen many videos like in 9/11, and earthquakes where they were ordered to stay.
