A Kentucky mother is grieving the death of her 3-year-old son Jha'lil Dunbar. He was killed after a tornado destroyed his home last Friday. David Begnaud reports.

This is the saddest thing. No explanation ever for why tragedies happen so randomly. To hear this the reporter say this woman knows she isn’t “mentally fit” to mother her other children at this time is just powerful. God bless her. She is amazing and I pray she’s well in time.

I don't know how you will take this. I just want to share it with you because you said you don't know how tragedies happen. I will tell you what some sages say regarding this type of disasters: All types of natural disasters that involve air are caused by all the millions of times people curse or say evil things. There are some sad stories coming out. This poor 3 year old. A whole family, possibly gone. A couple that had been married for 50 years. A family where they lost 4 kids. So heartbreaking.

I wish their was some way to take her pain away and make things better for her. I feel HOPELESS. Yes we can donate money and volunteer but that won't bring her son back. The guilt or the woulda, coulda, shoulda thoughts tormenting this mother just gets me emotional. I pray she can overcome this and becomes stronger with the help of God. Nothing else can uplift you from the darkness you find yourself in. 😢🙏

So right. I always said I’d put my 3 year old on the wearable baby carrier but yesterday in Omaha we were hunkered down in the basement and I didn’t do that. If something happened I would blame myself for the rest of my life.

my sister told me this woman's story. i reconciled at the time the 3 yr old went straight to heaven and the Angels soothed the baby. having seen this... God Be with his mommy Grant her the Strength and Wholeness to go be with her other babies i imagine the other kids miss their mommy and want to be there for her. right now, its time for everyone to rally and take care of mom

It's shame how such a home that was in great shape for 100 years only to just become a piece of history by a large and powerful tornado, and to add fuel with the fire, the tragedy of a 3 year old boy, and seeing the mother's black eye on TV. She got an alert on her phone seconds before the tornado hit her home?!!! I can't understand why sirens weren't going off to give enough time for people to get to safety. Granted if they made it to the basement, by the sounds of how the house fell into the basement, maybe they all wouldn't have made it. Just so heartbreaking!!

@Luda Cris My husband said that some areas don't have sirens, he informed me that our area that we live in does not have sirens. I never realized that. So perhaps they live in an area that didn't have sirens, I still just don't understand why they wouldn't have sent out alerts sooner on cell phones though.

@Luda Cris evacuate? What the city or the place of business? You don't really know for sure where the tornado may go and you don't get no where near as much warning as with hurricanes and here in Oklahoma they don't want people on roads they rather them hunker down where they are most times they used to have public shelters here but it caused a massive traffic Jam and people got caught out on the roads and EMS services couldn't get to people that needed help because of all the traffic lots.of people got killed and even a elementary school got hit and killed 30 kindergarteners even with all the drills that are mandatory at places of employment here in Oklahoma so I could imagine the confusion at places that are not use to this kind of weather it's just mostly out of human control

I think the sirens and alerts don’t happen until there’s a confirmed tornado on the ground. Depending on where it lands it may be too late

I had a co-worker killed during a torando he places his wife and 3 kids in the bathtub and place a mattress over the bathtub his wife tried to get in to get in the with them but he pushed her down under the mattress and laid on top of them. She said 3 minutes later the mattress flew away and the storm stopped in an instant. That is what a parent does to save their children and their families. God bless her soul, she did everything she was able to do at that moment to save her babies. We do not know when or where we are going to be called up to join grace. In all honesty there are no words any of us can ever speak to comfort her; that type of comfort and grace will come from within. So I will grieve and morn for her and with her.

My thoughts and prayers go out to this momma and all the families who have suffered loss. There was also a 2 month old baby girl and a 5 month old baby boy who passed from this vicious tornado. I don’t live far from here and I’m so grateful my babies are ok. My county was spared and very luckily as we were next in its path 🙏🏻

Oh my gosh. This is horrible. I lost my sister at age 3 due to different reasons. This actually made me cry. And not a lot of things make me cry. Bless this family
