Family of Florida Black woman shot and killed demand answers after white neighbor arrested

A Florida woman accused of fatally shooting her neighbor last week in the violent culmination of what the sheriff described as a 2½-year feud was arrested Tuesday, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said.
Susan Louise Lorincz, 58, who is white, was arrested on charges of manslaughter with a firearm, culpable negligence, battery and two counts of assault in the death of Ajike Owens, a Black mother of four, Sheriff Billy Woods said in a statement.
Authorities came under pressure Tuesday to arrest and charge Lorincz, who fired the gun and killed Owens in a case that has put Florida’s divisive stand-your-ground law back into the spotlight.

That was a poor decision and she went looking for a fight and she wanted a confrontation and the lady wasn't having it. People don't go over to your neighbors house looking for a fight or retaliation or in hostile ways. You will get shot!!! The moment she walked onto her property it was a done deal and she knew she was wrong. You have NO RIGHT to be on anyone's property. Its why we have law enforcement and not judges like you! She could have called the law but she chose to make a poor decision and go beat on someone's door. Anyone will shoot in that situation and I'm certainly not opening the door to talk to you. I heard that Owens was pissed off and beating on her neighbors door when she got shot. I think the story is about two women refusing to show any kind of respect for each other. Swollen pride. The woman with the gun should have waited until the other woman broke down the door (if what I heard was right) before she should have consider using a gun. Even then I wouldn't shoot to kill, but she is not me. I have a strong feeling that the media is dressing this as being one persons fault when it was both of them who were out of control. It takes two to tango. I've had neighbors who just wanted to be left alone and some were disrespectful and felt that they could do no wrong and would dare anyone to challenge them.

The story was that the Karen was upset that the kids played in a yard near the apartment. The Karen was rude to the kids and threw an object at one of the kids which hit them in the head. So like any parent the mother of the kids went to confront the Karen. The Karen didn't open the door and instead shot the mother. -- Regardless of their problems no adult should throw something at a child just because they are mad. From what I understood the kids didn't do anything wrong. Regardless the Karen should of never shot the mother or hit the kid. The Karen could of called the cops.

The US Constitution imposed no restrictions on guns or the carrying of guns. It is a much better insurance of our rights to keep and bear arms than any state laws or restrictions. It is not against the law to donate to the NRA and from your implied comment we can see what common sense means to some people.
