I just can't understand the complete and total naivety of my people...black people! After viewing several of the racist encounters with Sesame Place employees, (including the extremely disturbing video of the little girl who was knocked to the ground) coupled with the blase' response from the company itself, the message is crystal clear...they don't want your money, nor do they want you there, so just stop going!! I know your kids will be hurt but that's life, and you'll just have to explain it to them once they're old enough to understand, so just stop going! Please...just stop!

Sesame streets excuse doesn’t work because multiple similar recorded accounts have come out on social media. It’s not a singular incident. It may be systematic.

This is really pathetic. Are these parents serious?? Geez louise anything to get free money. The characters have walked past my 3 kids plenty of times & it never crossed our minds to sue. It’s even happened at Disney World. I hope Sessame doesn’t cave & just throw money at this family. And if they don’t pleas let a Judge throw this case out. Absolutely ridiculous.

All I know is that people wearing those costumes are blind as frack! Our mascot for HS had to be led everywhere and we had to get his attention by standing right in front of him and/or tug on his costume twice to get him to know there were little ones he needed to bend down and greet. The biggest concern I have is that the character did not seem to miss seeing the kids instead they seemed to purposely shake their hands no at them and walk off. Not sure what to think about this specific situation but I am more concerned they have no one as a guide for their characters to prevent mistakes like this or possibly running into a small little one running up that they cannot see. Jake almost clocked a kid by doing a jumping motion and it took me and Becca to stop him mid jump before a fluffy foot hit a kid in the face/chest. They need to hire someone to walk with their characters to ensure no one is missed or stepped on due to missing a visual. These horrible costumes are terrible for seeing out of, I got a headache just trying one one because unless you are used to looking through mesh your eyes are constantly going back and forth between focusing on the mesh and what/whom is beyond.

No misunderstanding - “Rosita” could have at least given high fives and waived to the two girls especially since she was able to give a full hug to a child of another race. The girls did not “offer a baby to be carried” as the spokesperson tried to explain about another person being addressed so why were they given a “no no” signal? This incident upsets me because I recall an incident when I was a preschool teacher for children from high risk and/or low income families. We went on a field trip to a local aquarium. The children were so excited especially since many of them had never had the opportunity to visit such venues ( the program provided funds to help with the cost). There was an aquarist feeding/ tending to the octopus which was in a small tank. We were on one side of a wall and the aquarist was on the other side so it wasn’t like there was a distance and the aquarist could claim she didn’t see us. I was with the students observing and they were excited because we had learned about the animals and the job of an aquarist so we were thrilled to see an actual one in action. The children happily waived and said “hi!” to the aquarist (who was of a different race that I won’t specify as my point is that all races should be kind or at least civil to each other). The aquarist did her duty with an “attitude” and did not acknowledge my student’s presence at all. The children had that same sad look like the little girl who was snubbed in this video. After the field trip I spoke to the manager and I asked that the lady in question be present. I told him what happened and I said we’ve been looking forward to this field trip and these activities help spark curiosity and interest in science for these children. I also said that I was initially excited that they saw an actual aquarist in action but ended up disappointed in her behavior. I told the manager I don’t know if she was having a bad day, doesn’t like children, or didn’t care for the particular group of children I had with me. But this experience is meant to be educational and entertaining. I expect professionalism and courtesy from employees representing their company and that was lacking that day. The lady had to apologize.

This is unfortunately sad and intentional. Sesame Street is considered characters and in all honesty “not as human” it’s the responsibility of the character of Sesame Street to play the role in which they are being compensated. I raised my children on the morals and values from Sesame Street and I will NOT encourage the program for my grandchildren to watch. It took the ignorance of one individual to make the entire Sesame Street Family and Production to eventually become obsolete!! This is the “Cancel Culture” era because people are tired of accepting the negative behavior…especially coming from Sesame Street which promotes a positive atmosphere!

The problem with ppl who want ‘sincere’ apologies is that it’s never sincere enough, no matter how genuine. And I don’t know what was exactly going through that performer’s mind during this, but speaking from experience it is really hard to always know what guests are wanting when you look through those heads. Not only are they hot with poor visibility, but they are heavy and are hard to hear out of too. Depending on the character, sometimes you can see out of the head’s ‘eyes’ and sometimes it’s out of the opened mouth. I could see it being reasonable that the performer thought the girls were asking to be picked up instead of a hug. I really wish she had clearly recorded the performance after the character walked past the girls. The company should review other performances by that performer to see if they do skip certain type of kids to see if there does exist a consistent problem. I know other videos have surfaced showing ‘similar’ instances, but is it the same performer? A character can have dozens of performers under the head.

Also the execs should post an image of all it's employees (masked and unmasked), so parents can be made aware of it's racial diversity and hiring practices.
