Well, I decided to forgo filming a camping video and visit family. I haven't seen my Uncle Chris in some time and thought I would change that. He had an unfortunate stroke a few years back and it significantly impacted his mobility. I make every effort to get down and help him with his off-grid cabin when I can. I went to the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia to see him. This is a very fertile region of the province with a vast amount of agriculture, especially apples.
Family is very important to me and within my own struggles, those relationships have suffered. My Uncle had a previous commitment so I decided to showcase his cabin and a place where I spent a fair amount of time as a youth. My Uncle is the one who introduced me to the outdoors, giving me my first fishing rod and shotgun. He taught me firearm safety and proper handling.
I also made an addition to the video by stopping at the Nictaux Hydro Plant and obtaining some nice images. The site I visited is the previous dam where the new large one is located above this location. The Nictaux River flows into the large Annapolis River. There are numerous hydro all throughout the area. I hope you enjoyed that portion of the video.
My Uncle and I had a great time talking and reminiscing. We watched the Royal Rumble together, visited Spurr Brothers Farm & Cidery, and enjoyed a delicious Honey Crisp Cider. The Spurr Brother Farm was established in 1875.
I am learning life is precious and not as long as it seems. Cherish your family and friends. Forgive if you can, you may not be able to always forget, but come to some form of resolution. Love life the best you can.
