Dee Dee, To a newbie like me, you are doing great. Your orchids all look fantastic.😊👍 Tolumnias were a headache for me too at first. I got four the beginning of October and started having troubles right away because they were too dry. I live the desert at high altitude and trying to grow them in the baskets they came in was a mistake. I put them in small leca and pumice in self watering pots and they are doing much better now. They even survived my two week vacation without any additional watering. I'm so happy, I just ordered five more!😁 Thanks for the inspiring videos!

They are beautiful indoors 💕 I really like the Barrina grow lights with the white light. I think it’s complimentary.

there's only one person/one place that I know of that tells people tolumnia's need to be kept dry. I know you have dismissed that notion for your tolumnia's but I want to use this opportunity to just forget absolutely everything you have been told from that person. If you need any help in future, I will be happy to help. I didn't say much up till now, noticing you liked to listen to information I do not consider helpful that many beginners learn. Where you decide to learn but more importantly who from is vital imo. I can guarantee you that the people you have been listening to and believe to be experts have not shown a single well grown orchid in the past 10 years at least and I know you have never seen my orchids either which doesn't really help my point lol but we invest so much money in our orchids, it really pays off to get more opinions. Not just trust one source online. Your source is compromised to say the least...

Hi thanks for watching. I definitely agree one source for information would not be beneficial for anyone. Too many variables in growing environments, care routines, potting media…it’s really an individual journey to figure out what works best for them to achieve success. My first source when I got my Tolumnias was the AOS website. It was my taking their recommendations too literally which started me letting my Tolumnias dry out completely between waterings and then some for fear of overwatering. Just my error and my error alone as to interpretation. I appreciate any advice you have to give. As to my Tolumnias when I need to refresh their media I will be adding sphagnum to the mix as it’s difficult for me to water frequently due to my having over 400 orchids. Wowza! But I’m having fun and that’s what it’s about for me.
