I hope the girl that pushed him goes to jail for attempted murder. The people just sitting around watching just as calm as ever should be charged in some way as well.
Nope. There are laws to protect those who choose not to help as sick as it is. It's called the Good Samaritan Act. The one who pushed him isn't immune from the consequences of her actions though.
Yea that's why in the latest news the "victim" here said that he knew they were playing around pushing him in and he played into it by getting ready taking off his shoes and stuff. Use your brain better next time.
@@meownhouse8809well if that's true he has terrible judgment, I definitely couldn't trust him as a doctor. Maybe he should be a veterinary doctor...hmmm!
I don't understand why half of the comments are blaming the victim for not knowing how to swim rather than the person who pushed him or the "friends" that watched him drown. He's on life support and yall wanna blame him? Idk how to swim but it won't stop me from living my life and going to the beach or lake. I wouldn't expect my "friends" to ever push me into deeper water. And I, and everyone else I know that can't swim, doesn't keep not knowing how to swim a secret. Also, people that know how to swim still drown and die on a daily and you still want to blame this now disabled man for his externally-inflicted trauma? It's shameful to see these comments.
She is not worried about them. She is worried about the restaurant. She thinks they have the money but it’s probably a family owned business that is struggling. I’m assuming they would be struggling simply because most of us are these days the way the economy has inflated.
@@BowhunterohioYeah totally agree. I can’t believe they are holding this restaurant responsible for something they had no control over. That pos of a lawyer right there is looking for a payday not justice. Suing the restaurant would be the last thing on my mind.
It doesn’t matter if they knew he could swim or not they could still be charged for criminal negligence for not attempting to intervene after a “reasonable” amount of time. :30-1:00 sec somebody jumps in but fails to get him up somebody else goes for help, they call 911=no crime 5:00 nobody called for help, no 911, nobody jumped in….= you could make a case for negligence
His "friend" tried to kill him. She needs to be held accountable for the damage she caused. Just like the other girl who pushed her friend off a bridge.
That's attempted murder not horseplay, and whomever was filming this and not helping is just as bad as those standing by watching a man's life almost come to an end.
I can’t blame the person filming when there is 6 people standing there watching!!!! If this person had not filmed this we wouldn’t know they stood there and watched!!!!!
It's possible the person recording was someone in the restaurant who had no idea of what was going on and decided to film out the window while waiting for food.
When will black men understand???? They don't care about you!!! If a black man did this to a white woman he would have been immediately arrested. This is sickening that she would push him 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
I would never believe some adult telling me he can't swim. I'm still not kind of person that would push someone in if they told me not to but I could see nobody believing a grown azz man can't swim

Regardless whether they knew he didn’t know how to swim, after he was pushed and was drowning, they just sat there even while he was under water. They didn’t go to get help or call for help. They just sat there
This is TRUE and it’s ABSOLUTELY SAD and DISGUSTING! We’ve seen/heard time and time again how jealousy, envy and greed will MURDER!!! That’s an EVIL SPIRIT😢
Lol how do you get jealousy unless you know him and the crowd he hung out with. I would assume they had aspirations also and probably graduated college. I'm laugh8ng at how people come to conclusions without knowing really why. Either way he chose to hang with them so they probably were not a bad crowd. The people you hang with speak volumes about yourself. He that walks with wise men shall be wise, but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Proverbs 13:20. Prayers for that young man for recovery and I pray the real truth of what happened comes out.
@rohipsalm2370 The truth did come put. The girl admitted to the police and the mother that she pushed him into the water. There is video tape. What more do you need?
People in these comments are justifying by saying: "Me and my friends pushed each other in the water all the time." "I don't think she tried to drown him. She was just playing around." Answer to the nonsense: If your friends saw that someone who was pushed in the water NEVER resurfaced, would y'all just sit there and stare? And when at the hospital, knowing the friend is clinging to life, would you refer to the friend as "that man" when speaking to the grieving mother?
Yeah, no. Most people are not trained life guards and they're not trained to assume the worst or to react quickly. Personally, I assume everybody hanging around deep water knows how to swim otherwise they'd be extremely foolish and heading for a Darwin Award. Under that assumption, if I playfully pushed someone in the water and I didn't seem them pop up, it would take me at least a couple of minutes to figure it out and even then, I'd assume the person I pushed in swam under the dock to trick me. If a minute or 2 passed and I did think something was wrong, I would have to rely on my untrained, non-lifeguard instincts to save the guy which would then be risking my own life. Of course, as a man, I think I'd do much better reacting to the situation than most women but that's just because men are easily more logical thinkers while women tend to react emotionally.
Never be the only black around white people, they will take advantage of that, making you the victim. White people will never respect black people. NEVER!
Whoever pushed him in needs to pay... Horse play or not? This boy was going to make a difference... And they stole that from HIM from his FAMILY... From US! Jealousy sounds like what it is... This boy had his master's degree... Masters degree at his age.... They need to be held accountable.... Enough of this. Let him go free. Low Bond shit... AND I CAN CARE LESS WHAT COLOR THEY ARE.....
The girl who pushed him said, I didn’t know “that man” couldn’t swim. Chris’ Mother thought her saying “that man” was so strange. Definitely NOT a friend. Smdh
She's obviously a psychopath. This probably isn't her first event of showing zero empathy. It couldn't have been deep there at the dock. Maybe they thought he swam or traded water under dock and away. Strange situation
There should be charges filed for pushing him into the lake and not rendering aide or going for help. Don't see how the bar owner should be responsible.
What people don’t understand is that when you can’t swim, panic sinks in immediately! A near drowning experience as a child had prevented me from learning how to swim. No matter how many classes I have attended! Just sayin’. I would stop calling these individuals friends. They are not his friends.
@Shidanfarded for one if they knew he can't swim then why push him in?? I'm white and can swim and saved a black kid 2 years ago from drowning. It's the principle of it all. If they seen he was struggling and then let him drown that's on them. Bunch of useless humans.
thats how lawyers work. the family is going to sue the business because it occurred on their land. they(business) are going to lose and then lawyers are gonna get their 30 percent of the full policy. the policy could a few millions
Um I know that...hell I can't even swim that well. I was talking about how the girl said THAT MAN.. the way she was talking about him proves she didn't gaf about him.
How can you say.. i didn't know THAT MAN couldn't swim? What do you mean THAT MAN? That's not how a friend talks about their friend. He was NEVER a friend to them.
And I believe that they did know he couldn't swim because the mother said he told everybody he talked to that he could not swim. I think they knew it and they thought it would be funny to push him in knowing he couldn't swim.
I know it's a common phrase but age had nothing to do with this. She, and the rest of that "friend" group, are too evil to care. There's plenty of people much younger than them that would've jumped in and tried to help. I hope they're charged and that he continues to heal and improve.
Even if he did or didn't know how to swim, why would "friends" just stare on watching, looking down instead of jumping in to assist him. They all just sat there, failure to render aid I guess if he accidentally fell in they also would just look on
@@KrazyKrzysztofwas looking for this comment before I said it myself. Why would the owner of the bar be sued? Did the bar owner dig the lake? Was the bar owner present at the time of this drowning? I am totally sympathetic toward Chris and his family. This was a terrible incident. The girl that pushed him will definitely see charges. The stranger that saved Chris will be remembered as a local hero. But the bar owner will be sued? For what I just don't see why? I see the bar owners lawyers beating that. I hope Chris somehow makes a full recovery with no brain damage. I hope him and his mother gets justice. 🙏 I hope the girl that pushed him in knows that she's lucky Chris did not die. She should also thank that stranger for saving Chris and downsizing her charges from murder to attempted homicide...We will see how this plays out. So sad to read these stories. People are cold hearted everywhere you go.
This is a tragic and preventable event, but I am confused. She said he was "brain dead," but later they said he was responding. If he's giving a thumbs up, he's not brain-dead. He may have permanent brain damage. Also why the hell is the restaurant being sued for his friend's irresponsibility? Sue the person who pushed him. Sounds like the vulture lawyer is just going after the deep pocket. Hoping the the victim is able to make a fully recovery.
Lawyer probably beat mom to hospital. When they found out whitey pushed him, race protocol was enacted starting with t shirt printing, and so on down the list.
This is so awful. It happens way too often and horseplay or not no one should ever push a person who can't swim into deep water. Honestly no one should be unexpectedly pushed into water PERIOD. I pray for justice for Chris and the he will experience a miraculous recovery.
Exactly. Numerous people have been seriously injured doing that, it is incredibly dangerous regardless if someone knows to swim or not. Incidents that come to mind, the girl who pushed her friend off a bridge because she was scared/hesitated to jump and seriously injured her (the "friend" was charged and convicted); a bride to be that was paralyzed when her bridesmaid pushed her into a pool...
@@kierrashae1266 obviously, but who would be jealous of someone starting medical studies 10 years later than usual? That's kinda disappointing actually

It's possible some of them didn't know how to swim either. They cud have yelled for help though. Trying to rescue a grown man and if u can't swim u both drown.
I sorta agree but i saw a comment that said an investigation should be done at the restaurant to see if it has proper signs and warnings. That sounds reasonable.
My brother was in a coma and brain dead for several days, it didn't look good. Our family prayed and prayed and it took a couple of weeks but he eventually woke up. He's not the same as he was before, but he's here with us. He's walking, talking, working, he has a baby. Please don't give up. I told God I don't care if I need to carry him from one room to another, I want my brother back. It happened 7 years ago on Memorial Day, he woke up a couple weeks later on my birthday - September 13th 🙏🏼 Don't give up, miracles can happen even if the medical results right now are not showing that
This story brought back memories when I was in Girl Scouts. We went camping, and while the other girls were jumping in the water, I stood on the dock. Well one of the leaders came behind me and pushed me into the deep lake waters. All I heard was laughing from the leaders above. I didn't realize that they were bullies. I didn't know how to swim either. I am sad by this incident, and they should pay for what they did. As someone else it doesn't matter if he knew or didn't know how to swum. Who gives you the right to impart that on him or anyone else. 🙏
They are stressing that he wanted to be a Doctor, thats not the point even if he was going to be a janitor, nobody has the right to push anyone to the water, its about life and death. Wish him quick recovery
If he was on the pier, knowing he couldn't swim, how is the restaurant responsible? I don't see the restaurant in that photo. It's only by God's grace he survived, but the young lady that pushed him needs to face criminal charges, not the restaurant.
Restaurant has deeper pockets than the young lady that pushed him. First rule of lawsuit lottery is go for the deepest pockets. I hope this young man recovers from this, but I don't see the restaurant being at fault. The people on the dock should have done more to help him before he went under. Surely, he was flailing around before sinking to the bottom.
No one has ever recovered from being brain dead. You obviously believe in God right? Why would anyone want to be left to a machine to live? Why would anyone want to be kept alive like this? Take me to the next life. Let me go in peace. This man is not lucky. He is only being kept alive because his family is self centered. They are worried about their own feelings that they want a brain dead man to lay in a bed unable to take care of himself for the rest of his life. If you believe in god than you should understand that his next life will be so much better without any pain.
I'm so disgusted that this ever happened to him. The entire friend group is responsible. It's a shame any accountability is also placed on the business owner for the ill intent of others. I pray he makes a complete recovery and fulfills his dream of becoming a doctor.
You're right I didn't see him get pushed either BUT the white girl admitted to pushing "That Man" so that's good enough for me. A literal confession...from the culprit...
Swimming is like walking, riding a bike, driving a car, reading, writing, counting, cooking, etc... it's a basic skill that everyone should have. Learn to swim. Teach your children to swim.
If everything you said is so "basic", then why are some born without legs or without the use of them if they have them? Why can't some ride bikes and why are there some people that's never driven a car? There are many that can't read and if they can't read, they can't write or count. Everyone can't be trusted to fry an egg even though its 'basic". Swimming is a good skill to learn but its not as basic as you commented. It sounds like you're saying it's the victim's fault for not knowing how to swim rather than the person who PUSHED a non swimmer in the water.
This is feels similar to how a family friend died when I was a kid. He couldn't swim, and my mom and dad swore up and down that he would not have ever gone to where he allegedly "fell" into the river while with his wife of less than a year. Anyway, I can't personally know that his friends knew that he couldn't swim. But I find it hard to believe that that would be the case that none of them knew that. And even if they didn't, I could see the first 30 seconds, they are thinking he's just trying to be funny by not coming to the surface or whatever. But after that, you don't just sit around, wondering why your friend isn't coming to the surface, whether they know how to swim or not. There is no way that there wasn't something else going on here, seeing how casually they're just sitting around.
A lot of people don't know how to swim because they never grew up around water, either a pool, lake or ocean. I know a lot of people who have never learned to swim. This falls completely on the so-called friends. At least one of them could have and should have jumped in to save him. With friends like this, who needs enemies. I pray he makes a full recovery. It's a miracle he's still alive.
They want to sue the business that the pier was located on? The mother didn't teach her son how to swim as a child and now wants to put blame at everyone's feet but her own..
I hope her son makes it through and the people that hurt him or refused to help him never feel any pleasure in life again. There's no need to sue the restaurant. That's just dirty and wanting to take money from where you think you can squeeze it. Probably know those kids don't have two nickels to rub together so next go after the successful business close by. Smh your greed is showing Mom.

I want to hear more about Dawson Foust. The man who saved Chris. He deserves recognition. A few extra minutes and Chris would have absolutely no shot at surviving. Wishing him a speedy recovery and those girls look so useless crouching around on the deck watching a man drown.
Does not matter if they knew he could not swim, he did not intend to go into lake, even someone who knows how to swim could get hurt being pushed into a lake. The pusher(along with rest of party) should be held accountable for attempted murder as if the push was a gun.
They did it on purpose. Jealousy is something deep. There isvthis case in the DR, were the coworkers killed this girl, because, she didn't want to hang out, because she was bussy working and going to school learning English, and to become a flight attendance. They say that she thought that she was better than them.
I don’t see how the bar owner would be responsible for this. The girl who pushed him in needs to go to prison for attempted murder. The people who watched and did nothing also need to be charged.
Wow, this absolutely tragic! From this footage, it looks like one of the girls sitting down to the far right was filming. Have they demanded the footage from her phone? Who was filming in this footage? Did they know or see what happened? It's ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE for this to have happened. Criminal charges need to be pressed.

Learn 2 swim. What if a child is drowning and you are there but arent able to assist? You'll hate yourself for the rest of your life because you were too lazy to learn.
To his mother, why didn’t you teach him to walk? Why didn’t you teach him to read better? Why would any mother not teach your kids to swim? She’s to blame. We put all our kids in free swim lessons when they were 2 years old and repeated lessons every summer until maturity. It’s a safety issue because of all the children that die from drowning. Why is he in the middle of the lake if he can’t swim? What did he do to those young girls to cause one to defend herself?
So much victim blaming in here. If the roles were reversed and a man pushed a woman in a lake and almost killed her, no one would even be questioning her. They would be blaming the man who pushed her. Why are women hardly ever held to the same standards when they do messed up stuff?
Exactly. Its already been turned to a race thing... Cuz it just be like that. When the formula works, who's gonna challenge it? At this point it's fail proof, and most certainly by design.
