Today, I take another nostalic and historic memory lane road trip. In this episode, I visit the famous gravesite of actor BURT REYNOLDS. His ashes or cremated remains were buried on his 86th birthday at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Hollywood, California.

I met Burt Reynolds and Dinah Shore in 1975 when he made one of his many visits to my home town here in Georgia. They were in a store here just looking around. I had taken my daughter, who was a little over the age of one, into the same store. As we were coming to the end of one aisle Burt and Dinah came around the corner and bumped into my cart. They stopped and chatted with my daughter and myself for a while. Really nice couple and of course I let Dinah hold my daughter. Burt gave me some money to buy my daughter a nice babydoll.

Dinah Shore saved Burt's life indirectly. he was going to visit some friends but stopped by her house and decided to talk to her, The people he did not go see were murdered that night, including Sharon Tate.

A family friend worked on Evening Shade and Burt Reynolds gave my son (who was 6 yrs old at the time) a show jacket that has Evening Shade and a tree embroidered on the back. My son STILL has that jacket in his closet and he’s 30+ years old. Burt Reynolds was a kind and generous man!

I loved his character in the movie, "Deliverance" based on James Dickey's novel by the same name. Everything I admired in an alpha male. Oh, and my mother loved the centerfold of him in a 1972 cosmopolitan magazine. Rest in peace Burt, you will be missed.

He's not buried there he was cremated his ashes were scattered there. He probably would have wanted to stay in Florida.

I love that community activities are happening in this cemetery! It is a beautiful place and should definitely be enjoyed for the peace and wonderful nature! Best movie he made once all the car chases were over. Great cast. It was said the director was out of pocket and Burt took on the job. Do not know if true or not.

I think my favorite Burt Reynolds movie is one of his lesser known called "The End". It's actually pretty funny and in a way dark humor.

I loved Burt Reynolds he was such an icon some of the movies he did with Dom Deluise and various other stars was awesome! It sad he has such small grave he deserves a monument in my opinion.. Sad he is treated like that.

Excellent video Steve! I’ve been obsessed with Burt Reynolds lately ever since I watched the documentary I Am Burt Reynolds, I highly recommend it. Can’t wait to make it back out there and I’ll be visiting Hollywood Forever to pay tribute to Burt. Like you said, we all put our own spin on things, people love to see other perspectives. I think around that area is Anton Yelchin. Very young actor who died and played in the newer stark trek movies as Pavel Checkov. His grave has a statue of him.

What a nice video. The swans and ducks. Yoga . Wow. Burt was an all time fave. I saw him in person at the Paramount theated in Seattle early nineties. He gave a talk about his life. It is a really good memory. 💜

Burt Reynolds was a favorite guest to watch on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. He was also a proud Florida State Seminole football alumnus. Burt used his football skills in my favorite The Longest Yard.

I saw Jordan posted his video first but I knew Steve would be doing something soon so I waited and it was well worth waiting for. I grew up in North Portland and when I was a kid Burt filmed "Breaking In" just about 12 blocks east of my block where they used a house for his house. You really did a great job on this video Steve. I am glad to see more of the graveyard in your video. I tried to locate his grave on Google Maps to get a better understanding of the location within the cemetery. After watching I was able to find it quickly. It's just something I do....don't know why, but Great job as always.

Seeing Burt on with Johnny Carson was always hilarious. He was a great actor, teacher and sadly those types of entertainers are disappearing. Great Job Steve i could see you driving a bandit style car outrunning the local crooked sherif. Now all you need is the mustache and cowboy hat. Lol might get you around a little faster than your white buggy. Haha great job Steve.
