That’s a shame, but it’s true. Our black celebrities entertained them for a quick minute and when they died they were forgotten. Thank God Lamont has lit a proverbial candle for them.
Her comedy albums, especially the one she did with Skillet and LeRoy (also from Sanford & Son), are raunchy, but funny as hell (the 2 Live Crew sampled a lot from her albums)
I'm a 49 yo disabled combat vet. I served in the US Army I was with the 101st Airborne Div. I was caught in an IED blast while doing a foot patrol in Karbala provodince Iraq. I just wanted to say thk u for doing what u do. U r always very respectful 2 the deceased n their families, loved ones n friends. I've buried many friends gone too soon life cut way to short but for love of God, country, n family. Having said that not many have that kind of respect anymore. So plz know I salute u Mr Lamont n I thk u. U r amazing plz keep doing what u do 👍😁
Loved seeing Sugar Ray's grave. He was AMAZING. I grew up watching boxing with my Dad and he was our favorite. RIP to an amazing athlete and loving husband. ♥
smelly cat, I buried my daughter whom journeyed on in August 2020 at 33 Years of aged🌹 She journeyed on days before my 52nd Birthday🤦🏾♀️😔 I wanted her in my Town it's a Country older Cemetery mostly Wooded. The people up there in the front of the Cemetery are mostly from the 1800s and the earlier 1900s. A very Beautiful & well manicured Cemetery. The Unique Headstones from that time are huge and Beautiful They don't even make any Headstones liked that nowadays.
I asked an employee there how long does a person have to be dead before the plot can be resold. He said 100 years, after that its assumed theres no close family left.
@@CallmeMrTibbs-kx7bx They do attempt to contact possible relatives beforehand because there are still quite a few 100+ year old graves. When my mom passed last year the mortuary that took care of her had also taken care of my maternal grandparents and my great aunt and uncle, all of which are buried at Inglewood Park. The mortuary reached out on our behalf to the cemetery in regards to information about opening my grandparents grave to bury my moms ashes with her parents (info on cost and possibility) and that inquiry, apparently, triggered another inquiry because my mom was listed as the only next of kin when my grandma passed. Long story short, they wanted to know whether or not the 2 double plots were still actively visited or if my moms death would leave them abandoned.
I used to live right down the street from this cemetery when I lived in Inglewood back in the day. My aunt, uncle and cousin are buried there too, I believe. I’m gonna go visit them the next time I make it to LA. Thanks for the vlog, LaMont!
Jester Hairston was amazing. The grandson of slaves, he wrote “Amen” the song that Sidney Poitier sings with the nuns in Lillies of the Field. Thanks for the memories.
Thank you for showing this location. I worked there during the eighties, and it is a beautiful cemetery. We used to park my car inside the cemetery, climb over the locked gate, and go to concerts at The Forum. Then we'd climb back into the cemetery afterward, and the night man would let us out the gate on the opposite side, so we avoided the traffic from the ending concert. Great memories. Grin. So thanks again.
I still watch Sanford and Son. Love aunt Ester. I was living in Los Angeles in early 90's. I was working at a Wendy down town and a man came in with a gun and held me up. I left and never looked back.
Thank you, Lamont! Seen a couple vlogs on famous graves from this cemetery which did not feature even HALF of the folks you showed today. Well done, Sir! Stay safe.
The Kate Spade video was reccomended by YT yesterday. Then I watched your Kobe & Gianna video, and I found you to be respectful. Thank you for that. Then, I watched a couple more. It's almost 11:30 am, in Orange County, CA, and I realized that I sm binging your channel. So I did subscribe. Lucky for me I found you just in time. The govenor is re-closing much of the state and you have quite an extensive library on your channel. This will keep me from completely locking down. Thank you, again.
I watched Bebe's kids all the time with my son. Robin Harris was hilarious... I watched his Stand up comedy too. What a funny guy... he was far too young to pass away. I still can't believe it. The good ones always leave us too soon.
Lamont, just want to say thank you for showing the Inglewood cemetery. I was born and raised there. Graduated from Inglewood high in 1986. My friends and me used to walk through the cemetery to look at the old gravestones. I had no idea that some of those celebrities were there. I really like how you give background information on the people. You are very respectful.
Ford is bringing the Bronco back sometime soon, this year. Nice video Lamont. Appreciate your knowledge of those that have passed. Could listen to you all day. Prayers, safety, & blessings!🙏🏼👍🏼😊
Thank you for showing the resting places of these special people who had success in their careers. Loved Aunt Ester and Jester. Cesar Romero was good in everything he was in. May they all be resting in peace.
Lots of stars at this cemetery: Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Etta James, Billy “Buckwheat” Thomas from Our Gang Comedies, etc. Great video. I hope that you can get back to show the others. 😀
I lived in an apt Robin Harris used to live in...btw. And "Aunt Ester" lived on 85th and Budlong I believe, close to my childhood home. She kept a very beautiful home too.
Oh man... So many greats here!!!! Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, former LA mayor Tom Bradley, Buckwheat (The little rascals), Robert Kardashian, Lloyd Avery (The dude who killed Ricky in Boyz in the Hood) Hope you come back & show these resting places!❤🕊🙏🏾
Wow...you followed up. Thanks Lamont. Thanks for the visit to I.P.C. I asked for your visit there, and you did it...you're one in a million . The late Rev. James Cleveland is entombed there. My mom is right above him to the right. I will be placed right above her when i depart this old bitter earth. Once again...thanks for coming through.
So happy U spotlied ingelwood. This is my family and community cemetery and also thanks for honoring miss lawanda and mr jester two of greatest actors in the community..but beyond the stage they were great eleders in the community and nice folks😉
I was sitting at the bar in Harold & Belles restaurant, over on Jefferson near Crenshaw, and Johnnie Cochran came in to pick up a "to go" order of food. The O.J. trial had recently been completed, and Cochran was a celebrity. Everyone said hello to him, and he was very humble, and smiled and said hello to everyone.
Beautiful Cemetery Lamont. I tried to watch you live the other day and it would not let me - I am in the UK, and wondered if that was why, but I can watch live on other channels in the USA, so very strange. Sad I missed you. Take care.
This was great! I have family in that cemetery! My Mother, grandparents, great grandmother, numerous aunts and uncles are buried there. Interesting story, I went back there on mother's day to put flowers on graves, could not find my mother's grave, I about gave up and I saw a man wearing white shirt and white pants sitting on the grass, he asked me what was wrong and I told him I was trying to find my mother there, he told me to just go back, follow my heart and I would find her, I walked across the little cemetery street, stepped up the curb and looked down and there she was. The sadness in that cemetery was all the young people buried there. In their teens and early 20's, so many graves, so many mothers and fathers who lost their babies.
I like how u give us a bit of the deceased history for me thats wot makes yr vlogs very interesting nd i have seen alot of those tv/movie stars so by watchg your vlogs nice to see their resting places.
Absolute fabulous job. Thank you so much for sharing this man. I particularly appreciated the coverage of "Aunt Esther " whom I ll always love. Thanks again..BD
That reminded me of a Simpsons episode when Homer meets a spirit who says that he’s the ghost of Cesar Chavez. Homer asks why he looks like Cesar Romero, and the spirit says “Because you don’t know what Cesar chavez looks like.”
wow awesome Lamont now I want to go look up my old favorites and re-watch them! I loved aunt Ester and Fred too of course it's sad we don't have good shows or movies like those anymore. It's easy to see why Mr. Romero was the handsomest man in Hollywood too wasn't he divine! thank you for taking us along now I am feeling nostalgic. Have a blessed day see you next adventure!
