My worst rainy day on a motorcycle was during a trip starting from Virginia Beach Virginia riding across to Oklahoma, down to Texas, and then across to South Florida, then back up to Virginia Beach where I was stationed in the Navy. I was riding a 1988 Honda goldwing. During the part of the trip between Texas and Louisiana I was hit by a very hard rain storm. It was coming down so hard that I could not see more than 10 ft in front of me on the highway. Thank God for the CB radio I had on the bike, that I could speak to the semi truck in front of me to let him know my predicament. He told me that he would be my eyes and to tuck in close behind him as he slowly brought me to an exit that had a hotel that I could stop and stay at for the rest of the day and evening. What a blessing that I thank God for. The next day I rode to the east coast of Florida in sunny dry weather. I love your videos It brings back lots of memories of my own travels, even though mine were all in the States. Thank you so much for sharing like you do, and God bless both of you.

Still beautiful. Thanks for sharing Road in the sleet and rain twice. Miserable riding. 6 hour trip in the rain in winter was terrible. 3 hour trip in freezing temps. Never again. Road in the snow for several hours too. No more for me.

Yes I always say I am a good weather rider. I don’t really want to ride in freezing snow like some riders do with spikes on their bikes. Completely not my thing. 😂

Lea I love the trash bag pants fix! 🤣 Trash bags make great Ponchos for skiing or riding in the rain too. Too bad the weather was bad and you missed the otherwise beautiful scenery! Wonderful video anyway Lady! I wish I was there right now to see the volcano erupting. Maybe I'll get lucky when I go there. But, I'm bringing rain gear when I go! Good evening Lea, Talking about volcanoes, there’s a new eruption going on north of Hrindavik. The famous plastic bin trick 😅. Luckily my trousers fit over the boots. Pity you had rain but for photos of icebergs this foggy background is marvelous. But you wanted to see both kind of weather. I hate rain when I’m on my bike. The water always finds a way in somewhere especially at your crotch and your neck. The hexagonal basalt columns remind me of the Eifel where I saw them too at an underground guided tour. They used to make mill stones out of them who were exported throughout Europe.

Oh I didn’t know the fact about mill stones! Very interesting! I hate rain also. Sometimes I think I actually don’t really hate it - but in the end every day riding with sunshine is 100 percent nice than a day in pouring rain. But I guess it’s part of the journey. I am only so sad for the places that I am missing or that are just not so nice because of the rain…

Okay, that was a cold surprise on the beach there, and ist had me schlottering with sympathy. 🥶🥴 Iceland is a very harsh beauty (I just watch Route 43 burn under the lava of today's eruption in a different browser window. The Blue Lagoon and Svartsengi power plant are in danger, it seems) 10/10 points for this episode, though! Beauty and perfect filming and heroism en masse here! 🤗💪

Yes the recent volcanic eruptions have been crazy. I read somewhere that they expect that it might go on like this and that they just entered some decades of very active volcanos. It’s amazing though how the Icelanders deal with it, they always have a huge respect and at the same time awe for the spectacles that nature is bringing to their island.

@@Got2Go Well, Grindavik most likely is lost. You can't the trust the ground under your feet anymore there. Geology professor Shawn Wilsey deals with the developing story quite a lot here on RU-vid. Just Icelandic also provides frequent updates about the situation there. If wee A. allows you some spare time… 🤗

Going from the U.S. east coast to the Rocky Mtn. west I rode into severe storms in the midwest somewhere, but the rain did not bother me as I was completely dry in my rain suit. what frightened me was the cloud-to-ground lightning. Hello next little town and hello Motel 6 ! Another trip coming north from the Smoky Mtns. passing Washington D,C, before Baltimore the rain was so intense cars & trucks were stopping and at low points I was riding through water covering the wheel hubs. I just slowed down and kept moving, it was fine. Tourmaster rainsuit + rubber gloves (from the kitchen) under the touring gloves + Gore-Tex gaiters on my legs = no water on me at all except the face.

I agree - thunderstorms with lightning are the worst on a motorcycle. I am actually really terrified of them after having driven in some in South America.

You are one brave person to lay on an Iceland beach in a bathing suit then get washed by the waves. We have seen similar rock formations in Ireland. Really interesting. I hope when we are there in March we get some sunny weather. Still enjoying your trip. At least I am not getting soaked watching. Another great job at videoing.

My worst experience riding in the rain was when I was in my early twenty's. I was riding through Glacier national park on a Honda 175 SL and it was raining so hard I could not ride any faster than 40 miles per hour because the bike would hydroplane an I could not steer the bike. By the time I reached my sisters house in East Glacier I was very cold and every thing I had in the pack I was wearing was completely socking wet as well as all the cloths I was wearing. Riding a small 175 cc motorcycle is not an easy ride and doubly so when in the rain.

my worst wet ride was in 2018 leaving the sturgis motorcycle rally heading to buffalo Wyoming , I got caught on the edge of a tornado black sky wind, lightning and hard rain for 50 miles ,I didnt have rain gear but made it safe to my nice warm room in buffalo .

Stunning video, the last beach was beautiful, the red dress was a good choice. Nevertheless.... Iceland is for the die hards because of the weather. MUST SEE. I am a 78 yo Dutch male and I watch Itchy Boots. She had very bad luck in Congo, Africa. Her bike fell off a "canoe ferry" into the river in the dark. The bike wouldn't start anymore. [ Itchy boots S7-E80 ]

Riding in the rain i've always stayed dry with a good pair of waterproof boots and a good pair of waterproof pants , worn over the boots.When the wave washed over you 🤣🥶I am thouroughly enjoying your tour of Iceland even though my nipples are at attention for the entire episode.........Brrrrrrrrrr👣 Many Blessings

😂😂😂 they better pay high prices for my fashionable inventions 😂 I agree with your conclusion. I have had soooo many different kind of gloves, and the reason I always buy new ones is that I have not yet found the perfect ones for wet and cold weather. Either they are kind of waterproof but way too thick, or they are too thin and cold or like these ones not waterproof at all even though the seller told me so. 😂🤯

THE ONLY solution is HANDBAR MUFFS and install.. heated grips......(like Hippo hands )......look crap ...but keep wind , rain , cold off your hands ..and you can wear summer thin gloves for dexterity .. say warm @@Got2Go
