Thank you! Nothing fancy with my footwork, to be honest. I don't regularly play this level of double kick so pretty much just muscled out the individual hits 😅
Thank you! I'll be making it for the TD-27, but it will be version 2 only unfortunately as I've updated my only module. There's not much reason not to upgrade now, all of my other kits are fully compatible 😁
@@TheeDrumWorkshop nice, really good sounds 🤘 really liked the names also, and damn, pretty awesome drumming 😮🔥🔥 I will buy this immediately when it comes TD 27😎
@@TheeDrumWorkshop so good to hear that it will come to the TD-27 as well! I recently bought the Originals Studio pack and I freaking loved it! The snares are so beefy. I’m so gonna get this one when it comes out for the TD-27
Amazing work Luke! I'm sure the Metal Heads out there will love these sounds! There must have been an insane amount of work put into this! But, you've got to give us a detailed video on that kit! I haven't seen you play this kit before, it looks amazing!
Thanks Justin! Yeah, it's the pack that's taken me the longest to make, not including the extra practice hours I needed for this video 😂 Ahh cheers! Looks like a few people are interested in the kit, guess I'll have to get on that! 😁
Haha, your St. Anger snare sounds too good :D Just a little niptick, the 90s Metalica drums need to be brighter, the famous black album sound is exactly that, EQd to the extreme to be as bright as possible.
Great video! Subbed. Need help. I am upgrading my TD11 kit. I have a lead on a PD-108 and PDX-100 both at the same price? Which one should I go with that will eventually work best with a Pearl Mimic Pro? Also does the Pearl Mimic PRO allow for digital snare, digital hi hat and ride compatibility?
This is freaking awesome! Once it comes out for the TD-27 I’ll be getting it :) Just one question tho’: Can I build like a custom kit from the different packs of yours? i.e: Snare from one of the Originals Studio kits, kick from one of these metal kits, etc etc? I kinda already tried to do it in my current TD-27 but didn’t sound alright 🥲
Thank you 🙏 Yes, you can do! But as you say, there are some "limitations". I made a video explaining how to use the copy menu to do this that could help - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1b4faWD-DWY.html Though it does sound like you've tried this already. So the reason it might not sound the same is because of the Overheads and Room ambience settings. When you copy a pad, it will bring over all of the pad settings (instrument, layers, Pad EQ, Pad Compression), but the Overheads and Room ambience settings are per-kit and they can change the overall sound a lot. So if these ambience settings are very different between the two kits, the pad sounds might still end up sounding different when brought to another kit. I hope that makes sense!
@@TheeDrumWorkshop Luke, when you do the review and since you gig on acoustic now, can you compare it to an acoustic hi hat i.e. what it does not do or do badly. Every one just compares it to other electronic hi hats.
Looking forward to a TD17v2 version! Luke, which would you say is your most acoustic-like kit for someone who wants the response of an acoustic kit? I love the kits you're showing here but admittedly they sound more processed, like in a recording after it has been mixed.
The eDW Originals Premium, Slated Room Collection and TCJ Bop are the most "acoustic" kits. On the TD-17 module, they were made before the kit compression was added so they're mixed in a pretty natural style and they've got the Lo-fi Compressor enabled as a MFX to make them pop a bit more, but you can turn that off if required. You're right that these were designed to sound more like a finished record, as are all of the Famous kits. The Metal pack will be the first to use the Kit Compression features on the TD-17 version 2 (though of course you'll be able to turn it off too, if required).
Excellent kit sounds and impressive playing, Luke. I'm presently torn between listening to your video and laughing my bollocks off at Eurovision. Go Australia! 😂😂😂
Unfortunately not. Every pack only works for the module it was designed for. Also, currently the Strata Prime doesn't let you share saved presets/kits as far as I can tell.
It's a converted acoustic kit with triggers inside. Just bought a cheap WHD kit and put triggers in from my previous kit (mostly DRONE triggers with a DIY kick trigger). The snare, ride and hi-hats are the Roland digital pads and the other cymbals are a mix of Roland, ATV and Lemon. Heads are a mix of drum-tec Real Feel, Jobeky 3 ply and SpareDrum 3 ply (they all feel practically identical), with a drum-tec Pro head on the kick + Evans nylon patch.
----- The China cymbal is a Lemon 15" ride (used with one cable for 2 zones).
