@@mirna.prasaja Thank you. I found a recipe of Sambal yesterday and made it myself. I really liked it. There were other recipes, so I'll make them again.
As an Indonesian domestic tourist from Borneo, I am guilty of complaining to no end about how seafood in Jimbaran being overpriced and targeted at foreigners, but at the end of the day I would still go there to be serenaded by the buskers with a cold one in hand while watching the sun goes down 😅 Thanks for taking us along with you to Jimbaran! 🍻 🌅 🦞 ᬫᬢᬸᬃᬲᬸᬓ᭄ᬲ᭄ᬫ _Matur Suksma_ and _Terima Kasih_ for visiting Bali, Indonesia! 🙏
That "fresh sambal" it's called sambal Matah and it's originated from Bali. They chopped up some Bird eye chillies, shallots, lemon grass, and lime leaves. After that they dunked some hot oil and mix it up together, they usually use palm oil instead of coconut oil. One of my favorites Sambal here!
I would love to see Micah on your videos, too, trying the food 😊. If he hasn't started on spicy food yet at least show us his reaction to the non-spicy dishes. We have been with you since Micah was born so condider letting us grow with him! God bless you and your family, Mark❤
Ah yes, the overpriced seafood warungs at Jimbaran Bay...I'd rather buy fresh from Kedonganan market and have the nearby warungs to grill them. Better yet, I go to Amed, Tulamben, Padangbay or Pemuteran for their freshly caught seafoods. Edit: Let me clarify, Overpriced ≠ Expensive. They aren't expensive, they're just overpriced, some people in this thread think they're the same when they're not. Expensive is about affordability, overpriced is about value.
@@wu_weichun idk about after the covid, but before, this was a tourist trap with heaps of bad reviews and stories people experienced. Padangbai, Amed, and Pemuteran are also touristic places, but not as crowded as South Bali and rather nicer for those who like to find peaceful places with genuinely friendly services by the locals.
@@MarkWiens most welcome Mark! Mujair nyat-nyat & nasi kedewatan ibu mangku also worth to try. but Warung Mami is a must. Never missed, when Im in Bali 👌
YOU ARE TO THE RIGHT PLACE! actually there's 2 JImbaran seafood spots. one is popular among domestic tourists, which is more modern, cleaner, yet more expensive the one you came is the more traditional and where the locals go when they talk about jimbaran seafood. I, as a local, verify this to all of you.
0:19 Dec 20 2023, Good Morning Mark and family. From Gilbert Arizona USA 🇺🇸.I had to watch this video twice. At the first restaurant 12:03 because there is so much delicious food seafood 🦞 to see. This video is absolutely amazing. All of the seafood looks delicious.wish i was definitely there to tour this with you healthy Blessings and Happy Adventures always to you and your family
Everytime i watch foodvlogger that come to Indonesia to review the foods like Mark, Dale, Luke and others, i always pray for the vendors to not doing any scam to them😢😢😢
If you'd like to go on some adventure you can actually buy the fish directly from Kedonganan Market and then bring it up to nearby warung that do the grill service with per kg price.
You could have added some un-monatized Balineze music and not a Jamaican that is on the other side of the world. I know this is not your perfect praising comment you only reply to so I am not expecting a reply, like always, never a reply. But hope I help your overall quality of videos.
Hello mark. Very thankfull4 in sharing with us orher countries cuisines. We also learn how to do them in our homes. Above all Happy thanks giving holidays with your family. God bless you.
This my first i saw your others accnt now i watch because i love spicy food .most of your food is super spicy i know it thai where you Lived is more eat spicy than Filipino. Enjoy your vlogging watching from Germany but im from Cebu.😊
Balinise sambal and sauce are very very difficult to be made or copied by any Balinese within Indonesia. Their complex seasonings makes it vey tasty and unique
the problem in Indo is that nine teaches the fisherman to brine the fish when caught. So, you have fresh fish caught at night mostky that sit in ice w/out brine for too long and then sits at market in old ice water w no brine. Its really sad they still cannot figure this out.
Beli ikan di pasar sebelahnya Trus cari warung di sekeliling pasar buat bakar / goreng Dulu ongkos masak 20 rb/kg Nggak tahu kalau sekarang Sudah lewat 8tahun 🤭
✌ Peace & respect to the restaurant owners, cooks, servers; and Mark Wiens showing and telling about the food by the beautiful helpful made-up art of called words and or English.😊
Hi Mark, my name is Asha. When will you be coming to South Africa Durban? Love to meet you. Njoy ur videos, I watch all the time. Lots of love Asha n Reagan from Trenancemanor Phoenix Durban South Africa ❤😊
I’ve ate all over Asia and love the street food, however I found Indonesia the most risky place to eat ‘fresh’ seafood, the strike rate for eating seafood and belly issues was higher for me in Indonesia than anywhere else I ate in Asia , Thai, Burma, Cambodia, lao ,Philippines etc spent many days recovering after some dodgy seafood in Indonesia
As Indonesian, you need to grow some immunity ,folks... j/k. Actually this is why we usually eats it with Coconut water like what mark did here. But in this place particularly the food will be mostly fresh because north of it is the biggest seafood market in Bali where the fisherman sold their catch directly to the customer. You can also shop in the market ,pick the freshest fish you can get, and go to the restaurant and ask the restaurant to cooked it for you ... Its a win win
@@007JNR no mate if you read my message , it says I’ve been all over Asia and suffered very little but had more issues in Indonesia than anywhere else ,
Most likely you did not wash your hands properly. Properly cooked seafood cannot give you a stomach infection. No reason to point fingers at Indonesian seafood.
Matur suksema Mark, to come to my playground, it is near my house actually, i eat fresh fish everyday, you can contact me for looking real best seafood here, and you just 10% to try those food, as local here, i can show you the other seafood here the other 90% of Jimbaran Bay's food
Loves fish more than other seafood….loves the spicy sambal rather than the sweet tomatoey one….yeah Mark and I have nothing in common as far as taste in food goes.
If you looked at his older videos, here you would have noticed this channel is more than just restaurants. You make more money from RU-vid with more channels.
