Tourist have to pay. It helps to renovate & maintains heritage. Nepalis dont pay we live in that place. Some tourist dont seems to pay coz they have paid for 7 days in advance or are living in that area doing their job. So counter people knew them. There are lots of things going on that tourists can't see. So just follow the rules when you are travelling.
You only need ticket to go to the boudhanath stupa which is a world heritage site and the charge is only for foreigners. But to only pass by - might need to go another way, they didn't understand that you all were just passing by and go to the stupa itself.
In kathmandu there are 7 heritage site and foreinger are charged to enter those sites. If you are from one of south asia than bit less than rest of the world. Those alleyway are way to boudha nath stupa.
Should have mixed the noodle really well until you see vibrant redish colour. Yes, sadly it is true in some places tourist are charged certain amount just to get access for which they show some silly reasons which is shame that should not be happening. I have been thinking over and again why tourist have to pay comparatively higher prices than locals in some places- prime example can be the domestic flights.
Man i stayed in a hostel in Australia when i was on a road trip, met irish people, some guys from new zealand and everyone was just chilling in the community area watching tv, everyone so excited and just sharing stories

Bro instead of arguing with ticket counter, why don't you ask it first about what they are changing for! In Nepal, noone need to charge for free just being foreigners but it's UNESCO world heritage site out of 10 in Nepal and out of 7 of kathmandu valley itself, so u need to pay first. That's how it could be conserved for next generation. Still, loving your content but where is that another American guy from last video?
those alley way lead to boudha stupa and if they let you in without ticket maybe not you but some tourist could sneak inside stupa so to control it you gotta have ticket . i understand that its not a perfect spot to have ticket counter but it is what it is .this is nepal anything is possible😂
