Seen the 100 many times. They sound good. They are good at ballads and their dance routines. That's it. Their drills are usually boring and sloppy. That's when being large doesn't always means better. The Legion usually does well with all four features of their field shows: drill, concert ballad, dance feature, and dance routine.
Legion drill good sound good and dance features usually decent but the dance routines been very weak lately. I miss the old days of the Legion dance routines they use to put so much more into. However this is an issue with all bands. I think it's the music now nothing really that great to rock to anymore.
@@teebrooks8832 I've noticed that with many bands as well. I wonder if it's the song selection or dance steps itself. It's so much the human body kan do in dancing and acrobat moves. Spectators may have seen it all.
@@koolkharisma5298 right but FAMU and BCU was unmatched when it came to a dance routine no other band out here could touch a dance routine from either school just look at the youtube vids but now all band are watered down when it comes to dance routines.
@@teebrooks8832 I have to disagree with you on that bruh. When I look at field shows from the 80's 90's schools like Tennessee State, JSU, Southern and NSU, they had some very exciting dance routines. NSU and Tennessee noticably had shorter drum breaks. NSU would perform longer dance routines on special games such as Hampton, klassics and homecoming. I'm seeing some decent routines from PVAM these days though.
There is such a thing as too many people on the field... There's a saying about not being able to "see the forest for the trees"....in this case, there are too many trees....
I LOVE FAMU BUT THEY ARE TOO BIG TO DRILL LIKE NORFOLK ST. I COUNT A MILLION RATTLERS ON THE FIELD. PLUS IT REALLY TAKES A LOT OF DISCIPLINE TO GET A BAND THAT SIZE TO MOVE AT THE SAME TIME IN THE SAME WAY. FAMU'S SOUND IS UNMATCHED BY ANY ACCEPT THEE OHIO ST. BAND. THEY MIGHT BE A LITTLE BIT BIGGER THAN FAMU. STILL I LIKE FAMU BUT I LOVE THE LEGION. I AM A NORFOLK STATE UNIVERSITY MARCHING SPARTAN TIL THE DAY I DIE. BEHOLD THE GREEN AND GOLD!
The sound is muffled and messy.....too many people on the field to try to drill....I marched in this game and for people to be marching off the field was over the top...I will give FAMU for having a good show with gimmicks but this performance I didn't care too much for... I have seen them do better than this. #NSUBehold
Lugzury12 lol your seeing and hearing the show from behind with massive echoes and it still sounds 100% better than NSU from the front. Nothing about this show sounded messy or bad. You're clearly hating because from what I remember from that game is NSU looking like a good high schools band with just ok quality

@@novasony LOL the hell it does. Even FAMU alumni was saying NSU was the best sounding band they heard at Bragg. The reaction to NSUs show compared the this one was night and day. Still doing stick figures is high school.
@@novasony No need to say anything to make me feel better except for the fact that I work with 10 former FAMU band alumns, and related to 3, and interacted with many back in 2003 after this game and they've all have said that. Now unless you've had a conversation will every single alum you challenging my assertion means nothing to me. The funny thing about some FAMU alums is that they think that their band can't be beat but fortunately there are some who can face reality. The Legion was playing old school music during the game knowing that a lot of older FAMU alumni would be at the game and YOUR crowd was singing along to the Legion and they enjoyed every minute of it.
Very arrogant statement by Famu announcer considering the only difference is size. NSU definitely sounded jst as good if not better, in terms of quality.
michael wright both announcers talked trash that's part of half time. Stop hating on famu when NSU announcer did the same. It's all fun and games. It's what hbcu bands do. And FYI NSU didn't sound better nor have a better show your're comparing a performance taped from the back( with echos) to NSU performance taped from the front. We all know the quality of sound with FAMU was better While NSU did have a good sound their show was quite boring.
Brandon Famu's show was quite boring (accept for the dance routine). I've seen them many times. You kan say NSU's show was boring but FAMU's fans didn't think so. They were applauding to the Legion's performance.
@@michaelgraves7718 Lol!!! That wasn't a drill, they have so many counts to get to their position to make whatever design it was. Extended steps, small steps, just get to that position. BCU drills 10x better that FAMU.
