The FAMU Marching 100 performed an electric joint halftime show with the UNC Marching Tar heels and we were on the field as both bands cranked out a legendary show.
As a former MARCHING 100 band member it was special to see 2 bands from 2 different cultures playing together! We are all one at the end of the day!!! MUCH RESPECT to the University of North Carolina for allowing this to happen!!!
@@dirtysprite6312 My thoughts exactly. If we were all one, Europeans wouldn't be trying so hard to get us to act like, take their standards of beauty, believe as they do, and do as they do. We are different and that should've always been respected. Much respect to both bands that show although we are different, we can move as one. It starts with Respect 🙏🏾
@@dirtysprite6312 that's your opinion but remember even though we know there are some people that feel that we are not one, that don't apply to everyone & we are all God's people. Stop allowing some people to make you think that way. It's negative thinking like that, that keeps us divided...smh..But again you have the right to your opinion & I respect that...
@@josephmelton5302 Most bands have some sense of rhythm; it's mandatory to play an instrument. I'll give UNC credit for stepping out of their comfort zone, but they're not ready to go solo with this kind of show AT ALL.
@@dirtysprite6312 Which is stupid because just that one game alone would bring Jackson out of poverty, see black people need to get out of their own way🧐🧐💁🏽♀️💁🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
I was one of those kids. We definitely were not on the same level, but we appreciated being taught a thing or two. I will remember this performance forever like you said.
@@luckylucas8596 iam glad you enjoyed it. It was touching to see that i never saw anything like that. A taste of showmanship. Unc might be the key to elevate halftime shows at the power 5's......nnnah that was a one off. You guys came in did your thang let it hung out👍🏾😊 take care hope you an exciting season. Keep smiling n never let them see you sweat😉
@@luckylucas8596 Great job, kid! I’m a M100 alum. From what I saw, I assure you valuable lessons were learned on both sides, and the memories are priceless. Your warm welcome and hospitality was legendary and appreciated. At the end of the day, I saw 600 band geeks getting it in!!😎😎🤣💯#LongLiveBand#AllHail!
@@cjjonez And you keep spreading that positive energy brother. It's contagious. Can tell the kind of person you are from what you wrote. Never change 💯
I m a Tar Heel, and I loved it. Everyone around us loved it! Music is the universal language. Don't think there should be any negative comments here. Had to be difficult to work out their show. I would think they didn't get to practice together. Wonderful performance from both bands! 👍👍👍🎶🎶🎶
For all those who have an issue with this ... Music is a Universal language enjoyed by all cultures... these are kids who are enjoying doing what they do.... No further explaination should be needed ...
I loved this! I wouldn't want to perform HBCU style marching because I have no rhythm for a musician, and I learned the corps style, but I respect the hell out of the different styles. Love to see more of this.
All I can say is this needs to happen more often would have liked to see FAMU & FSU pull this off especially since they are in hollering distance of one ano
This was so cool to see live. They also played Motown Philly, Lift Every Voice and the National Anthem together earlier in the show. Had the fun chance to watch the joint practice Saturday morning. Was cool to see those kids working hard together. Band kids are awesome people.
Anyone saying ANYTHING negative about this performance should be ashamed of themselves. This was a great show and BOTH bands did a great job!!! Mr. Announcer... No Sir!!!!! There are no questions!!! Can't wait till next week!!!!!
As awesome as it was to have the two bands together - the cameraman was either an amateur or white - because everyone knows you can't see the true formation of a marching band's halftime show unless you are taking it from and ariel view. They were doing some wonderful footwork - and some great choreographic moves - but they were missed because the camera was taking it from the ground view - and I'll bet those students worked hard rehearsing for that half time. Do you know if anyone else got shots of the band from the bleachers or from one of the sky boxes? Would really love to see those.
After all, this is what Heaven is gonna look like❤️. I'm originally from Florida, but have lived in NC for 20 years. I sooo love this!! Awesome job everyone!🎉🎉🎉
Wow, this show was amazing, i wanted to cry seeing two bands come together ❤, this is what our country need to do!!!, enjoy the diversity and join together. We need to spread more love. Wow, wow, this was amazing 👏
UNC did a great job of adapting to a different style, but by enlarged most of the UNC member did seem to enjoy themselves and it came across in the performance. Kudos 👏 . For others, looked a bit like a fish flopping around. #MakeAFishFoundation.
@Shana Jackson ummmm. Did u see last years halftime ? And u think it’s gonna be any different this year. Famu owns halftime against any band. You can kindly wait until the 5 qtr tho. That’s when y’all and SU shine I guess.
Duke alum here and a descendent of multiple HBCU graduates. Got to say this was nice to see even if it was UNC. Lol. Seriously...good job and respect. It is an honor to share the field with the world renowned FAMU Marching band. Those Tar Heels were really enjoying themselves!
This was fantastic! I love how they infused some soul into UNC's band and had them dancin' too! The fans want to be entertained at halftime. Otherwise, they will go for concessions and more. The audience seemed to love this new experience! I went to Southern University in Baton Rouge and got used to this kind of performance. Unfortunately, here in Southern Cal, we don't see much of this in LA. So, it brought back fond memories.
That was so beautiful to watch.. Two great institutions came together and make music, to hell with color, to hell with status. it was all about music.. Hats off to The UNC and The FAMU.. Classy very classy .. 👍🏽👍🏽
And that is the HBCU experience on the field....I absolutely loved marching in a HBCU band back in my day. Glad both bands enjoyed this combined experience.
I marched at Rutgers years ago. HBCU style is high energy and you need to be in great shape. I was not coordinated enough to do it. Both styles are cool and have tradition
I was there in the stadium everyone was waiting for the halftime show. We knew something special was getting ready to happen and it did. It was great night music is music. To see those kids hug one another after their performance was awesome.
FAMU came to the Falcon sound marching invitational a couple years ago and everyone absolutely loved it!! Just as much of not more than the corps style groups and universities. Music unites us, and it invites us to share the sounds and traditions we love with others. The marching arts are incredibly diverse, that should be celebrated!!
I was there last week, not to see Taheel football, but because the Marching 100 were within driving distance. But I was amazed how these talented kids pulled off playing together and some choreography without rehearsing together. Amazing.
What these young adults did was bigger then music!! We give gen z a hard time but these kids are a different type of brave. This performance is legendary and they did it first !!! They will always be able to say they broke the norm and set the new wave the parents of these young adults should be very proud of them. I don't know anyone at those schools and I'm proud of them
At an HBCU game the halftime is the game that being said Mama DRUM MAJOR IN THE BLACK AND TAR HEEL BLUE ( in the North Carolina Tar Heel blue posted at 4:54 knew the assignment , did her homework and the extra credit and turned it in on time
