Dr. Shelby Chipman was and is the only person that could have resurrected the rich sounds and traditions of Dr. William P. Foster's world famous Marching 100. He bleeds FAMU through and through. He was taught and marched under Mr. Herbert J. Rhodes Sr a FAMU grad @Miami Northwestern Sr. High. He's going to take FAMU to the next level ....ALL ABOARD
no you don't have to have singing lesson... if you know your part and can play your part you should be able to sing it .. it all goes hand and hand.. its music.. if one is out of order the sound will not be complete and your sound is horrible
That baseline funky as hell...coming from a MMW Alumni. I'm glad to see the Marching 100 growing and getting back to there original size. Keep up the good work. I see you Adrian, keep doing your thang boy!!
Yoooooo i was just about to comment on this representing SU. I got to admit. FAMU sound fire. Just sent this to my SU people sooooooooo... LETS GO!!! LOL
CHILLS! The acoustics along with the harmonies of the voices that I Did Not expect were mind blowing! Just because people can play instruments doesn’t mean they can sing. Then I hear the amazing voices of these young musicians and Pride doesn’t even come close to what I feel! Such talent being nurtured so lovingly touches me so deeply! This school is Magnificent!
I only played in high school, FAMU was my dream school, and it didn’t work out for me going there. But MY GOD!! I CAN HEAR THAT SOUND THAT MADE ME FALL IN LOVE! WE BACK!! HUBBA 100!
There’s no Tuba sound like the 100!! Dark and Rich and pronounced. With more time, this band will definitely reach some new heights under Dr. Chipman! Fantastic job.. BCU will Thoroughly get waxed this year!!
They got a studio version. I need to meditate to this everyday before I leave for work... and this must be played at my funeral... feels like a war chant!!! Blessings
Picture it: The band strikes up the chant as the football team waits in the tunnel Band comes in with the first part of the song When it gets to the part where the tubas come in the ROTC fires the cannon and the football team runs on to the field. Tuba break and chant Then tubas and percussion fall off just leaving the crowd doing the chant with the announcers and football team hyping it up Band comes in to play one last round of the song then it ends. The crowd goes wild!
Y'all sound so amazing. Wow. This is the sound I remember hearing every year at ATL Classic and Homecoming. This is the sound I wish was happening when it was time for me to go to college in '13.
Shabba '92: To be in ear of the Model of The millennium and its Boreifs of Sound, Tone, & Instumentality are Wonderously Spatial. In graph, height, and width of every Accent of Stanza. Deetively, SHABBA
