At homecoming the 100rd has been asked not to play when the other team was on offense at the line of scrimmage, but when that play started the the band should be playing. Also the band has to pump the crowd up when we are on offense so the crowd will stay in the game. Look at the FBS schools and how their bands keep the crowd in the game. FSU, UF, Tennessee all do a great job at it. When we traveled to SC State, the Marching 101 kept their crowd in the game
well listen young man there is no reason not to come to FAMMMMMMM U. I'm just a fan who loves everything about the school & its sports. The band is #1!!!!! We are all human and sometimes we need to improve ourselves and that is wat my comment was intended to do.... the 100 is what the KITTY CATS want to be and will get you pumped wen u down and beat!!!
Damn Man coming from somebody who has played football and is thinking about coming to FAMU to play football, I as a player find it that when the band plays "Hype" Songs it helps me out as a player because now if I'm tired or a little beat up I have something to pump me up and that makes me want to make a big play. I love The 100 for what they do but I always feel like the band is the back bone and the 12th man to any HBCU football team because truth be told the fans come to the games for the ban
my dear sir/ma'am I LOVE FAMU and we are the baddest in the land!!!!! We did make our own noise... wat im sayin is the 100 is changing we use to play until we were given a PENATLY and then played in slick way as DTBrown put it playin low on/during set and hike back to blasting!!!! dont play and put ppl to SLEEP!!!!!!! PINK PANTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CMON DA E-N-T-I-R-E GAME.... da ham sandwhich its a orange elephant is wat other rattlers are callin it. im just in house expresssin my opinion
lol that would be me!!! Believe you me i remember those GOOD OLE RATTLER Football days, but they played til we got a warning at least. This season i will say we only showed up and out in the stands wen we had a competitor across the field... As far as OUR team had the band come out to the scrimmage games so the team can become use to playing with the noise.. im not dissing the band just a lil disappointed that they werent the usual band wen it came to amping the fans and glad we cud discuss dis
my comments are not to bash you..but I as well as many other individuals have worked VERY hard to become a part of the Marching 100..so if you don't like what we do when WE do it..then dont come to the games..you are someone from the outside looking in who does not know what Dr. White discusses with the Athetic Department and coaches..he has been doing this BEFORE you were born..and does not need your advice..I know it may sound rude but its the TRUTH
there really is no need for me to check my inbox...not to sound rude but once again your concern should not be with the band..The band does not make a team win a football game (ex: away games that the team wins without the band being in attendance)...and if so much "funding" is coming from SGA and the athletic dept then have them to send the band to ALL away games..like the "OTHER" schools do! we are not a radio station and we dont take personal song requests or advice from non 100 members
FACT: at this game they did not play in between QTRs at A&T's game.... wen i go i want the full game experience. i shouldnt have to go to ATLANTA AND ORLANDO to get a good Show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No it wouldnt...and if it wasnt for the 100 then FAMU would NOT be what it is today even FINANCIALLY...DR. AMMONS has the ultimate say so not sga or any other student...and if YOU dont like when and how the band plays...dont come to the games...and until you come through the RANKS of the 100 then your opinion about how we play is NOT needed..but thanks for your concern...From a former member of the 100 and an Alumnus of Florida A & M University
still @famuscholar89 Inaugural Parades & other events BUT to become NUMBER O-N-E took a lot of work sir/ma'am as becoming #1 in ANYTHING, BUT also wit being leader of the pack comes GREAT responsibility!!! The marching 100 is a prestigious institution and if you just boast about being in it and you do not maintain it u are like the George Bush of the 100
Man some people dont understand how a band or fans can change the outcome of a game. In the BCS world the fans are more into the football game than the band and Vice Verser in the HBCU world, so when the band is hype in the HBCU world the fans are hype which now hype up a tired and beat up football team. I as a player feed off the crowd rather it's booo's or cheer's I pull energy from the fans/band because nobody can play 4qt with out beng tired and beat up.
i love the hundred!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now imma say this becuz I AM PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We as fans of famu only got half azz performances at/during the game Saturday. All those sections were puttin every1 asleep!!!!! ugh sorry but since i was da fat boy trying to pump up a dead Bragg Stadium i needed to vent sorry but ppl need to hear this and maybe things will fall back in place
Well you need to talk to YOUR athletic director...and besides the band can not play unless it's between quarters and rarely during time outs because the team CAN NOT hear...dont blame a dead crowd on the band...MAKE your own noise..folks kill me..with so much to say..The 100 should go on strike for football games..exclusive performances only!! lol you was dat guy dat was dancin lol u did a good job gettin people hype but yall gotta understand the team get penalties if the band band is playin at the wrong time then everybody would start complainin sayin dat we make the team lose cuz dey cant hear audibles and stuff so its better if we dont play and in between quarters so everyone would leave da band alone but as we all can see people will never leave da band alone
I have no idea, sorry. I just know it's been passed down through my band by the seniors teaching the freshmen. I'm sure if you searched hard enough you could find it
