The "watching a kid bash toys together" observation is on point. Early DOOM is different than some other violent/"shocking" video games because its violence is so gleeful and wanton. There's no real nuance and that's what makes it great. The stupid face Doomguy makes when be picks up a weapon, the name of the BFG, the difficulty names, the plot literally being "guy's rabbit got impaled and now he kills everyone for it..." it's very blatant in its violent content and it makes it kind of charming in a sense
24:50 I know this is weeks late and he had literally no way of knowing, but Mr. Fruit is using the BFG in the most inefficient way. The big green ball does squat for damage and the real damage comes from 40ish invisible rays the spawn from the character when the ball makes contact. I way to exploit this is to fire point blank at a wall and peek around so the rays spawn and hit whatever's around the corner. Decino does a great video explaining this, along with a bunch of other details in the original Doom games. BTW, love this compilation! Feels like something he would post on the main channel!
doesn't he literally mention in the primary channel edit that he realizes he needs to hit all the tracers but then just doesn't care enough to do anything about it
@@Tavares0709 oh, the story of demons and possession is similar, the Supershotty is 100% the sawn-off from 2 and Army Of Darkness, but I'm just very glad they could capture the occasionally-wacky comedy aspect of them too.
@@Gexuma haha damn, didn't know you were working on this this whole time. kept this big project on the down low huh, just wanted to surprise us? also I like how in the thumbnail the video is 51:51 long lol
@@Gexuma you like Doom, Dark Souls, and judging from your profile pic, Hollow Knight too. Pretty good taste in games ngl lol Might I request to lower the sound on some of the music sections however? I think a lot of people like to watch grayfruit videos while going to sleep, so it can be a bit surprising lol Thank you for this lil surprise, it's a damn nice one. I really really like the transitions you made lol. And did you make the "new stream" text in the opening?
@@Gexuma ahh gotcha. I personally would love to see more and more fan edits there. But the lack of posting about fan edits might motivate others to post content in their own ways, memes, fanart discussions and whatnot
@@Gexuma Ah right, I remember now. I had to disable automatic updates from my DOS Dooms on Steam to prevent then from downloading all the Unity stuff. It's good to be there for people who don't want to be bothered with source ports, but it is annoying for the rest of us.
