It feels weirdly nostalgic hearing the music of this game considering I used to listen to half of it during my last couple years of high school. Some of these bands were members of Monstercat, which I would listen to between 2-7 hours a day in various settings between the years of 2014 and 2016. My teachers even ignored the fact that I had my headphones on and let me listen to my music during class because I was one of the only students who worked better with my music because it helped me focus, but they scolded my peers if they tried copying me because they usually just wanted an excuse not to pay attention and wouldn't turn it down for instructions.

Single player actually seems significantly easier in some ways, like Cuphead. It's easier to zone-in and see the matrix on your own

This game is inCREDIBLE. This is probably the first fan friday game I've ever gone out and purchased right away, it looks like it would be a GREAT party game. If they have a party mode where you can just play randomly generated levels or whatever, that would be amazing

Challenge mode picks you two levels and a boss from the full songlist. You might see some songs you haven't unlocked yet! Playlist mode lets you choose which songs to play and lets you do them all at once (shuffle optional). Party mode cranks down the difficulty and lets the game act as a cool interactive visualizer for your actual party. It's intended for anyone to pick up the controller and mess around while the music is bumpin'.

I certainly appreciated the Touhou reference, although I'm not a huge fan of EoSD (PCB is my favorite). I'd repeat the "I've played Touhou for 5 years" joke, but it's only been like two years for me. This would theoretically be where I suggest Jesse try Touhou in a video, but I don't know that his playstyle would suit bullet hell games very well. Also, dear lord the invinci-dashes send you so far in this game, I feel like those could kill you just as much as inattention could.

You can actually do very short dashes if you just tap the A button and bring the control stick back to neutral, or very long dashes if you hold the A button and commit to it. You can also dash once per beat, on the beat, which makes for some fun chances to style on some bullet patterns!

EoSD is probably the best comparison for that one orb, honestly. Most of the windows games have slower, denser patterns, while the PC-98 games had less bullets than that. EoSD, being the bridge, had the denser patterns of windows while still having the speed of PC-98.

I may be years late, but for anyone that likes the music in this game, the only artist featured in every single update, and is my personal favorite artist in the bunch, take a look at shirobon. His stuff, just, great. Born survivor, regain control, and crystals are some of my favorites.
