Why isn't the boss going to rescue them? Work life balance is important and these sorts of things are things employers should be willing to do keep their employees happy. Call me selfish or whatever but I would be irate! Especially considering you're on a daily rate

Must’ve been frustrating being sent back out. Luckily your boss appreciated it but some bosses probably wouldn’t have even given a thanks. I’m at the point now where I’m considering quitting the HGV game as I’m getting fed up with the constant shit we gotta put up with and routes they send us on with ridiculously tight country lanes etc. I can see why a lot of drivers are leaving.

Yup you don’t mind doing a bit extra for a good boss, when I was in the bus industry in the engineering dept, I was sent out in a double decker to dig out and rescue 5 buses with a mate, we rescued 4, one of them twice in 10 minutes, driver had never driven his car in the snow let alone a bus! So saved the boss 5 towing charges! When we got back after 3 hrs the boss said I want to buy you something ( we thought breakfast! ) no a sat nav so you can get back quicker! No thanks at all!! 🙁

@@lukecinahgv you were shocked about it mate, the driver shows you’ve got good influence and it shows, I’ve helped new driver out other night while I was tramping, unfortunately someone pulled his kingpin before I went to sleep in afternoon as he was next to me, he was unaware what was happening I’ve stopped him before snapping he’s leads off, put his trailer brake on so he can re couple back on and do usual tug test, went other side to do dog clip for him, he thanked me, told him this does happen time to time, which happened to me before few years back, he wanted to give me money I’ve rejected told him helping a fellow trucker out.

Hi. Think Gaffy appreciates your film and you , may be by watching your film he has been able to keep going in his life. To keep saying you can not except his generosity does not sound very good of you . What you did with his gift was very much ok to do As hard direct cash was give , could be very difficult situation maybe later on Understandable of what you did plus some of your own money to match it. Had you. Continued to say Say. “ I appreciate your donation and passed on to charity”. Would of overall for the film sound much better To keep saying you can’t take it ( after been given cash , yet not able to return it to that person ). First time and second time is ok to say but after that it sound as if you may not understand his application for you and his generosity to you
