I'm hesitant about opening another communication channel I will need to keep up with. You didn't talk about responding to the messages. Is that possible and if so, is there an expectation to respond to all of them?
Hey Andrea! I totally get it, if it seems like a lot all at once, just ease into it and see how it fits into your communication routine. We don't exchange phone numbers via Fan Mail, so you can't text your listeners back, but you've got a way to reply right within your episodes! 😊
@@Buzzsprout wait, quick question. Is this fan mail only 1-way? They can text our show but we can't respond to the text directly in any way? I'm asking because our show is no longer recording new episodes but we get new listeners everyday and they usually reach out via email or IG DM...
Hi Shereese! Fan Mail currently doesn't support direct responses to those texts. Since your show no longer records new episodes but still receives listener messages, redirecting them to your email or Instagram DM for responses helps. @@Buzzsprout it is I did that a long time ago on the app. As far as I can tell it is only one way though. Of someone were to text me would I be able to text back?
While we don't share phone numbers through Fan Mail, you won't be able to text your listeners back directly. However, there's a great way to respond within your episodes! We recommend adding a Fan Mail segment to your episodes where you can read and respond to messages. Each message will include a location and the last 4 digits of the phone number, so you can use those details to let the listener know their message reached you. Hope that helps!
