At Buzzsprout, we're passionate about helping independent podcasters find their voice and connect with their listeners. Thanks for stumbling onto our channel, we hope it serves you well!
When doing demos, you should ALWAYS include a real sample of a before and after. All you did was explained the settings but didn't bother to play an actual audio where we can hear the difference.
My niche is 20 somethings like myself who don’t know what they’re doing but they’re still figuring it out while venting about it. I think this is the best way to nail it down and the topics for it would be limitless I think. Any advice?
I’m thinking of starting up a podcast (well I plan to lol). It’s about basically just creating a safe environment for venting and talking about how we’re getting through it. The topics I felt could be simple day to day stuff but by the end of the podcast we regroup and focus on how we’re still getting through it. I’d appreciate any thoughts or tips!!
I don’t even want to start a podcast but this woman has great energy, very upbeat, I feel motivated and happier after watching despite it being totally meaningless to me.
Hey Ashley, some prefer wired headphones for zero latency. For wireless, just ensure they have low latency to avoid any audio syncing issues. It's a good idea to test both options to see which works best for you. Hope that helps! If you have any other concerns, shoot us an email at support@buzzsprout.com
We have a video podcast already on RU-vid. Does that video podcast get shared to YT Music or do we need to separately publish an audio-only podcast? And if we do that, how will RU-vid reflect that?
If your video podcast is already on RU-vid then add all the videos to a single playlist, then designate that playlist as a podcast. Once you do that it should appear in RU-vid Music.
I've already added my RSS feed to RU-vid and new episodes appear already, that means they are listed in RU-vid Music as well? Are there different stats or is it all in our YT dashboard?
If you're adding your podcast to RU-vid then I'd add all the past episodes. If some of them are evergreen then they have a chance to pick up and start gaining traction. Best of luck!
@@Buzzsprout Awesome thank you! One more question, if I DO have ads on buzzsprout...what is the suggestion there? I don't want to stop the ads but do want to add my episodes to youtube! Is there an easy work around or fix?
Hey Angela, try to create a separate ad-free RSS feed for RU-vid or disclose them as host-read ads during submission. Whichever option you choose, RU-vid won't publish your show automatically - you'll need to do it manually after receiving approval. Hope that helps! If you have any other concerns, shoot us an email at support@buzzsprout.com
Yes, the best way to do that with a video podcast is to create a new channel and upload them as videos. Then you can put them in a playlist, designate the playlist as a "podcast" and you're set!
1:33 "cuz remember, compression happens to the loudest parts of your audio" 2:01 "the noise floor is what allows audacity to tell... when there's gaps in your words, or silent parts... and you dont want Audacity to take that audio and boost it by accident" -1
Thank you for sharing this! I have uploaded my podcast to RU-vid studio through the RSS feed, however I can't seem to change the picture of each episode. I can change the thumbnail, but not the actual photo when clicking on the video. I want to change it to something different from what I have on buzzsprout. Is there anyway to do that? thank you!
Glad you found the video helpful! Try adding the desired image as part of the video content itself during the editing process in every episode before uploading it to RU-vid. This way, the image will be visible when viewers click play. I hope this helps! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, shoot us an email at support@buzzsprout.com
what happens when you want to upload video podcasts but still want to get the episodes on youtube music? One of my friends primarily uses youtube music for all of his music and podcasts and he asked if I could get the pocast on there. I figured out how but now I am wondering if I am going to have to post two episodes (an audio and video ep) each time I release a new episode. Im aware that you can convert a video playlist into a podcast but I'd love to take advantage of the auto uploading from my RSS platform. For spotify after every episode releases I just go to spotify for podcasters and upload the video version from there. Is there an option for that on youtube? Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks for the info! Recording my first episodes now! I'll be using Buzzsprout to host them. Very excited. ... PS, sounds like you've got a little ground loop hum thing happening. Shouldn't be too hard to track down and eliminate. If you get stuck feel free to contact me.
I'm brand new to getting started in podcasting. My question is, Do you have to have every piece of equipment to get started? Could I just use my microphone and audio interface and directly record and edit via my PC desktop? I think I may use Audacity. But, I am having difficulty in setting up the microphone with Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd generation. That's all the equipment I have for now. Have you got a video tutorial on this audio equipment please? I just want to get started. Thanks for a great video so far though! :)
Hi Christine, welcome to podcasting! You can start without a lot of equipment. Setting up the microphone can be tricky, but we have plenty of software tutorials, you can find that here, bit.ly/3zofqs9 Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, shoot us an email at support@buzzsprout.com
It would be great to be able to apply different dynamic content to different episodes. For example, one of our sponsors only gets 30 sec ad reads in 2 episodes a month for 3 months BUT we run 4 episodes a month. Those ad reads are meant to be permanent but are not meant to be in every single episode moving forward til the end of time. Is there anyway to accommodate that?
Hey there, great point! Try using dynamic content feature, this might help you manage specific ad slots for different episodes. Hope that helps! If you have any other concerns, shoot us an email at support@buzzsprout.com
Hey there! We've put together all our software tutorials in one playlist! Check it out here:ru-vid.com/group/PL_7hD9e-mJ3VXNv8G4yXnALfGuHb1XdXw&si=G8mBPig95BwpC2rP
Good tips! Specially, 30 secs intro; nothing more aggravating that a long intro, particularly when you are looking for answers, or instructions on HOW TOs.
