The trailer for a "out of this world" feature quality live action fan film of everyones favorite Sci-Fi Comedy, FUTURAMA! Visit us at fan-o-rama.com/ FUTURAMA is copyright Twentieth Century Fox
I was telling my husband just the other day that I watch a lot of older films because I hate CGI. I can dispend my disbelief so much more if what is on the screen seems tangible. (Old horror/slasher films are so much scarier!) So glad you did as much as you could without CGI. Thank youuuu.
I feel like it's going to be one of those terrible movies that turns out to be a masterpiece, which makes me all excited. Something like Drop Dead Fred or Beetlejuice. Or like how Family Guy turned out to be.
because she has one eye it's easy for a mutated cartoon character to look good with one eye but for a live action character to have one eye will always look weird
Well..... it took longer than expected, but we're just a few days away from the release of the full Fan-O-Rama short! Sorry for the long wait. It couldn't be released until it was as good as we were able to make it. Stay tuned......
Flash Gordon Look kid, you haven't even seen it And yet you're judging it. I saw it, it turned out great. I watched it twice. Anyways these people clearly put hours of their lives into this and if you can't appreciate it, then go fuck yourself.
I know they could do way better with Leela's face if they just worked on it just a little bit longer, please don't use her looking like that! Everything else is awesome though!
Big fan from Brazil. Came by "Jovem Nerd" who made an interview with you in the Comic Con. Make it come true. Were all together to make this turns in reality.
I don't know what these other guys are talking about, for a fan film this looks pretty amazing. Like the production and design, the effort that clearly went into making it? Sure, it's not perfect, but it's spectacular considering it's a film made on a low budget by fans of the original show. I'm gonna watch it either way.
My point is, she is quite attractive in the anime, regardless to be a cyclop, and that's one of the big aspect of the character in the story. So, to me they fuck up the character. I rather preferred they had try to make her cute rather than a monster head. The main character is Fry, so the spectator is glued to his feeling... especially his feelings about Leela.
Kévin Kozlowski my point is the way our brain works is biased against real world adaptations of known fictional recreations. This is what the uncanny valley means. Proportionally she is the same, but because the brain knows it's not real it doesn't register subconsciously as an attractive image. I think they got really close to what the character actually would look like in real life, which is why she is ugly. Her being ugly, despite their best efforts at anatomical accuracy, is really a sign of their success at recreating the model.... but not necessarily the character. Though most people who meet leela in the show for the first time are startled at her appearance and wouldn't consider her attractive.
I think this looks like a masterpiece if I've ever seen one. I'm excited. Don't listen to the naysayers, they don't appreciate the effort that's gone into this.
Why does Leila look like a hell abomination? Why is Zoidberg the most normal looking? Why doesn't Hermes sound Jamaican? Why does Zoidberg look the most normal? WHY DOES ZOIDBERG LOOK THE MOST NORMAL
because she's a mutant because he's not human because we only heard 5 seconds of dialog because he's a crab because this is a fan made film (with high production cost if i may add) and things like robots and crabs are up for interpretation if its coming from an animation and we already have a general schema of human or human-like things so your brain takes it as something of an "abomination" when they're not human, which their not.
For a fan-film, this is probably that best that anyone could ever pull off in bringing a beloved cartoon to life. I don't understand why people are so negative about this, yes it looks amateurish and yes some parts seem to be little off but it's because it's a freaking FANMADE film. Don't expect it to be 100% high quality. But if you guys read the last message of this trailer, this was their way of thanking Matt Groening, David Cohen and 20th Century Fox for introducing Futurama in our lives. As a fan of the Futurama series, I think this film's gonna be great.
The voice actings pretty weak but the costume and set production is amazing. Given trying to match existing characters voices had to be hard so bravo for the attempt.
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE~! This package contains everything you could hope for and then some in a fan-made film-o-rama, and it's being delivered to earth for all to enjoy! Huzzah!
Looks absolutely fantastic but the voices are really horrible. It really throws you off, and takes you out of the moment. Wouldn't be a bad idea into to looking into voice actors who can actually replicate the real voices and dub the whole film. Since it's based off an animation the voices really can make or break this movie.
So many people slap together some stock footage and think their creative but this is the real deal. A real fan made production which are, sadly, uncommon.
This film may look a bit clunky, but keeping in mind that it is a fan film made out of love for the original, I think that it looks good and I'd definitely like to see it, not just to get a few laughs, but to also support the efforts of the people behind it.
To all the naysayers, we should be happy that a team of people were passionate enough to put this much effort into a short fan film period. Is it perfect? Nah. But it's clear that it was made with love and respect for the series compared to the soulless remakes that Hollywood churns out. That's worth appreciation by itself.
I wanted to like this so bad but, and I'm very sorry to say this, this trailer looks bad. The props built by tested were incredibly better, more accurate, well crafted, truth to the tone of the series and "realistic". Leela's eye should be done with 3d mapping, the environments should be more "real" for real people to interact in them without breaking the suspension of disbelief, fry doesn't look like fry, zoidberg and professor farnsworth look off, the overall pans and zooms are kinda weird looking. I'm sorry, I don't mean to bash this. I can see that you're really passionate and that you put a lot of time in this so I hope my point of view can be constructive.
Im sorry for ruining Futurama for everyone.... I don't know what I was thinking. I should of made it with Blackjack, and Hookers. Ah, forget the Futurama! ;)
And, FYI, Frank Ippolito from Tested.com actually worked on Fan-O-Rama. And Leela's eye is a combo of practical animatronic makeup and 3D mapping. You've only seen a teaser trailer, please reserve judgement until you see the final episode/film this September.
I didn't have a problem with the props etc, actually I thought the ship kinda 'obviously' dangling on strings as it flew looked hilarious, but the thing that doesn't work is the voices... it's what is so important about the characters. Even if you can't get the real voices via begging them on twitter, I'm sure you could put the call out to some amateur voice actors/impersonators.
Cinema relics I really appreciate the effort you guys put into it, I can see you're passionate about it and I'm looking forward to see the final product to change my mind about the stuff I didn't like. Some stuff are really good. Please don't play the victim card or exaggerate aspects of the comment. You absolutely didn't ruin it. Constructive criticism can be good and everyone should be able to express their opinion, positive or negative ;)
Reminds me quite a bit of the kids show "Lazy Town" the characters look like they belong there. I'm a big Futurama fan but the voices throw me off and Leela looks weird.
I hate when fan films look so so good, but end up butchering the characters into low tier fan fiction personalities. I mean this looks so so so so cool, but not of the characters seem like themselves. That said, fucking awesome work. It does look really awesome.
Look I know what people are saying about it looking like a porno but only a little bit, believe it or not I don't think the porn guys could make it look as good as this. For a fan made film with a probable low budget, it looks amazing. I look forward to how to how the finished product looks like.
