Warning! Within 4 months of light use my FANATEC McLaren wheel cracked at the shifter pivot point and where it mounted to the QR. I was accused of over tightening although I used a torque wrench set at 3nm. FANATEC then replaced the wheel chassis admitting in writing it was a weakness in the wheel. Very soon after my CSL load cell pedal failed. I sent a video before sending the pedal set back as requested. I was required to make a follow up email after not hearing back. FANATEC said they can not fault the pedals asking if I want then sent back which I found a strange thing to ask? Eventually they were returned however within minutes I experienced the same issue which was consistent with magnetic interference from the CSL DD wheel base before the load cell pedal would completely shut down. I was beyond my limits at this point and driven to warn as many potential customers as I could while demanding a replacement. Following the usual delayed response, FANATEC then offered a replacement only if a show proof that they faulty load cell was again on its way back to them. FANATEC’s poor response time drove me to desperation. Keep in mind I have owned this new product for around 6 months when 2 major failures occurred. An electric technician overheard my experience and offered assistance. I was able to demonstrate the issue and within minutes the technician diagnosed a defective voltage regulator attached to the load cell circuit board. The voltage regulator is designed to reduce 5 volts coming from the wheel base or USB down to the required 3.3volts. There was no signal out of the regulator which he replaced. No thanks to FANATEC I am now enjoying my sim racing again while I hold my breath for the next FANATEC failure. Please take my advise and look at the FANATEC’s own forum in regards to all the issues they have and their terrible customer service.
I like the magnetic shifters and the leather kind of grips, as i am not a fan of Alcantara. Works good with my gloves. I am especially loving this wheel now on ACC with the great FFB (Ps5). You have a Sim Racing dog with "move over so I can race" eyes 😁👍
He plays on the sim more than I do! 😀Glad you're enjoying the wheel as well. I wouldn't be able to keep alcantara clean myself hence why I went for the v2.5 instead of the v2.5x.
i have a question i don't know if i buy the GT DD pro and does it changes the 6nm per the 8nm in the GT DD pro and do you think your setup is very good i will take the same ?..
Looks amazing!! Are you using the alpinestars radar gloves? I’m looking at gloves of my own, I’ve ordered the v2.5 as well and was wondering if you’d advise your gloves to buy and if they’re good at protecting the wheel and the leather like material. Thanks in advance!
Yep, I'm using the Alpinestars radar glove in the video. They are pretty comfortable but i'd advise against it as it has lettering on the palm side of the glove which can stain the leather grips. I've actually stopped using them since. Right now i'm just using cheap $5 gloves lol. Might look at something like the Sparco Mecca 3 in the future
@@ThePuffsLife oh good to know!! Thank you very much. Then I will definitely decide against going for the alpinestars. I’ve been looking at the sparco gloves as well. You got the ones you’ve mentioned indeed, or there’s the more expensive ones, the hypergrip plus. Might go for the Mecca 3 if I’m certain they won’t damage the leather. Still doing research for the best leather wheel gloves XD
It's worth the wait. I waited until the CSL DD came out to get into sim racing. The Logitechs seemed junky, and the better stuff was too expensive. Finally got a CSL setup and I love it.
Been playing on a G29 for a while and it feels good on GT7 but like absolute trash on F1 2021 and F1 22. Just ordered this wheel with a GT DD Pro and CSL Pedals. Never tried a DD wheel before I'm really looking forward to seeing what all the fuss is about!
@@zonqu7474 the gt dd pro is the only available direct drive wheel on fanatec right now aside from the podium direct drives. The regular csl pedals are in stock but not the elite
Hola bro una pregunta tengo el mismo volante que tu tienes juego en Xbox X como puedo configurar la.pantalla para que me muestre el cuenta kilómetros o velocidad gracias
Great video! Are your dogs Samoyeds or Spitz? I get confused between the 2. Really cute dogs. Also like the small white model 930 Turbo on your table. I almost forgot to say the Formula v2.5 steering wheel looks awesome. Must be fun to drive with it. Have fun.

Great video, but one question. Why are u using a dd pro ps5 on PC and not just the normal dd for Xbox and PC. It's lower from the price and the dd pro costs 599 and normal 350.
Why i can’t play f1 2021 on my ps5 with the GT DD Pro and this wheel ? I don’t understand i can on GT7 but not on this game, if someone can help me please
You’re also paying a higher premium for simucube and ascher products not to mention it’s not compatible with consoles such as PS5 and Xbox. I use both PC and PS5 so the GT DD Pro was a good option.
There’s always one in the crowd. When you can get the Simucube and that steering wheel for under $900 come back and share your comment, otherwise stick to the original topic. By the way, since you don’t seem to know, it’s carbon fiber on the wheel.
