I just saw you video. Recently, I 've been trying to decide what to do. I have both Thrustmaster and Fanatec wheebases. I'm not putting any more money into Thrustmaster, I had two wheelbases died on me. But even, Fanatec they are having supply chain problems. You can't seem to get anything from them here in the states. However, I do like that V2.5 wheel. Thanks!!!
Hi Duane, the v2.5 is a great wheel, lots of buttons and rotaries and it’s well made. Sometimes if I have trouble getting something from Fanatec I go to digital motorsport. They’ve been good, might be worth checking if they ship to the states.
I could see that the F2.5X one might be a bit small. Love the look of the Thrustmaster one (the big display!) though as you say, those gear changes alone would probably drive you a bit mad after a while! I reckon I'll look into the McLaren GT3 one, sounds ideal. Thanks for this mate, very helpful as I'm pondering getting a wheel. Are these compatible with all recent consoles/PC do you know? As I've said to you, I'd love to try a wheel in conjunction with arcade emulation 😀
Thanks mate, with fanatec the chip for PlayStation compatibility is in the wheel base, so they charge extra for the licensing. To use the base with Xbox the chip is in the wheel rims. All their wheelbases work with pc. With thrustmaster you pick either the Xbox or ps wheelbase and all their wheelbases work on pc. The same thing with Logitech. I imagine you’d absolutely love gt7 on a wheel.😁
If the bases were the same you like the thrustmaster? I’m looking at either the sf1000 or a full brand switch. Sf1000 is the best option if it is good.

it's not tho. Won several races with this wheel and it feel plenty sturdy even in endurance. The shifter is a bit loud but who cares when you have a headset on.
Super GT says it is a great wheel and in his review he said he finds himself using the GT3 more and more. For me he was right and for the price it cannot be beat.
