Mine is arriving any minute now. Excited to see how this works out. It's also great to see the retirement of that ugly off-center clamp. That was news to me before watching this. Those like myself, who have dashboards attached to their wheel, have sonetimes been limited in where we can situate the dashboard so as not to impede that clamp sticking out.
I have a question. How large is the gab between the ring attached to the wheelbase? From what I can tell from your video and the Fanatec video, it appears to be roughly 1.5 to 2.0mm. Im about to test this later tonight.
Adding to my earlier comment. I don't know if I should just get the QR2 or if I should go for something totally different (Moza or something else) but I'm so bummed I've had 2 devices broken down I such a short time.
I changed this over like the video but still cannot get my wheelbase to recognise any of my fanatec wheels. I thought it might be the disconnection problem and that this would fix it but it does excatly the same thing with the QR2 one. Just stays in a update cycle and wants to keep upating the firmware. Three months now its been unusable with no reply from Fanatec. These really are the worst products.
I had the same problem but to get it to work I had to download the older version of the fanatec software for it to recognise the wheel. I think it was the previous version to what was out when I did it but it was a couple months ago. Was on the fanatec forum think its called fanalab
Mines fucked as well the silver base won’t even stay in I pull on it slightly and the whole thing comes out of the base still attached to the wheel same happens with Qr2 I might sell it or throw it out the window not sure yet
@@GreenGrape278 mine died four months ago in warranty i’ve been emailing them to get a repair. they finally replied yesterday 2 days after it was no longer in warranty with a RTM number saying they will fix it at an hourly rate cos it’s no longer in warranty. Bunch of thieves
@@GreenGrape278the shaft pulls out of the base? If so it’s not tight enough. They need to be tighter than you’d expect. I had disconnect issues until I actually used a torque wrench. No issue since.
@@Zee20Ate yea it doesn’t do that anymore because my big brain friend helped me I “almost” threw it out the window but now I can go full autism on shutoku pogU
I purely ordered it because of that, im not a expert on a freakin technical details of a wheel. I bought a out of the box system in my opinion.... i so feel scammed, i ordered the F1 wheel, they were sold out of QR1, so already felt scammed because i had to pay for something that should have been free with the wheel. and had to choose QR2 and pay another 99 euro. But nobody mentioned anything about a Type-C adapter..... Now another 70 euros..... Im actually now thinking to just send it back and keep the dd pro wheel on it....
Does anyone else have issues with their QR1 on the base sides Allen bolt super over torqued? I'm trying to unscrew this with what feels like the force of a thousand suns with an allen wrench and it is not budging at all. lol
@@jonathankelly2870 Unfortunately not yet. I am hoping using it with the old qr1 with some driving will help loosen it up a little bit... Otherwise I'm going to get a torque wrench with a 5mm Allen key.
@@Gibsontw23 so I was able to get it last night. I just got behind it like in the video and gave it my all. Took a few turns at max effort then just came right out.

Regarding the issue with wheels disconnecting I have seen a picture where it looked like the USB connector on the QR2 base goes a bit further into the motor than the QR1. Which would make a lot of sense since the old version must have been on the edge of connection since a small gap between the QR and the shaft apparently can cause the problem. So besides the QR2 being better clamped as you mention, it might also be much more immune to the QR base having a small gap to the shaft. Can anyone confirm that the USB connector on the QR2 actually goes deeper into the shaft?
I have my gt dd pro for 2 months, I am now getting gear shift disconnect and some time no wheel torque. I have tighten up this clamp 3 times now. I don't see any gap diffrence when I'm getting the issues. I would be interested to know also if the qr2 goes just that bit further in. It just seems a bit of a stupid flaw that should have been solved and yet we buy this junk
@@bradeymckenzie8901 I have purchased a 2 piece shaft clamp in the meantime which is much better, the shaft is no longer working it’s way out of the base and losing connection. However with GT7 at the moment there is a bug apparently which has occurred since the latest update patch which is causing Fanatec wheels to lose force feedback / steering at certain points during the game ( leaving the pits) most commonly. You have to quickly pause the game which resets your wheel … hope this helps.
@@DOIT4K3NWRTive ordered a new power supply to see if thats my issue, the power supply seems to turn off when trying to power up my base so im thinking its just dying or not able to provide enough power anymore.
This video is honestly the biggest fake video ever. It is absolutely impossible to get the collar of a DD. I tried absolutely everything and the comments underneath reflect that reality as well. This is what happens when everything is sponsored and the screws are losened before the video even started....
@@boostedmediaclips6894I’m having issues with loss of force feedback / disconnecting issues with my DD pro. Will this QR2 base and wheel upgrade solve this ?
