Way more than twice. To get a player jersey that's as high a quality as you could get 15 years ago it costs 350 dollars. they used to be about 60. The ones they sell for 100-150 have iron-on letters and are basically just jersey-style t-shirts.

You are a multimillion-dollar athlete and sign contracts without an agent or lawyer telling you how long the contract extends. Saving the lawyer money is an invitation to being taken advantage of, you want a limit on the contract, put a specific date for the end of the contract, they don't like that you walk his dad has enough money to support him till the NFL.

Seems hard to believe that a company would sue a player for breach of contract unless they have what they think are the absolute goods, especially since they're the one who has lawyers on their side. It's very easy for someone who is unfamiliar with the law to misinterpret contract obligations or at what point an agreement is binding. I will always be the kind of person who is in favor of the player by default, and they should always try to get the best deals they can because they're putting in the work and risking their body, but if you sign something without reading it, without understanding it, or without consulting someone legally beforehand, then you only have yourself to blame when they hold you responsible.

@@jwill294 I know, I’m a Niners fan and I’m all for players trying to get the best deal and for the team doing what is right for them, but it amazes me how quickly fans turn on players when contract negotiations don’t happen immediately or players exercise what little leverage they have. In this case, it feels like Marvin Jr. probably signed stuff without understanding what it meant legally, but that’s just my guess. It’ll play out how it’ll play out and we’ll find out more over time.

Not signing the NFLPA Group Licensing Agreement is a big mistake IMHO. The agreement is signed by most players at the combine. His team signed him to big contract but can’t sell his jersey at their own store. He’s getting petty.

Players have the right to negotiate the best terms for themselves that they can. If they are a generational talent, and they know it, they should not even enter the draft. just let all the teams know that you are going to be an undrafted free agent and sell your services to the highest bitter. I think the other piece of this is that I could see Harrison arguing that even if there was a binding contract fanatics is abusing their position as a market leader to sign athletes to under market contracts knowing that when they get to the NFL they are getting a massively underpaid contract. Fanatics may just argue you wanted this money and knew the risks not our fault if you “over performed” the contract. If you wanted an out after college negotiate that into the deal.

Fanatic could sue every nfl player and that wouldnt change a thing. Athletes will sign with whoever offers the most money. These companies arent going to simp for an athlete who hasnt even played in the nfl yet and weve seen these athletes only have a small window to sell there items. These guys have consistently ignored what Harrison’s behavior during his college career and predraft indicates about his likely conduct as a pro. He has been a model guy in a lot of ways, but as a potential employee he is showing he may be a problem. You can see managing, negotiating with, and holding to his responsibilities are looking like concerns at this stage.
