I love your rare plant lists and your deeper dive videos like this! I always see a few plants that I had NO clue even existed! That fire bird??!🤤👌 the mix of the creamy and blueish silver on the veriegated silver sword is also unlike anything else I've seen😮👀❤
Another great video! The variegated Spiritus Sanctus we're actually grown from seed. I think out of a thousand plus seeds around 11 of them were variegated.
I am a philodendron lover They are so easy to take care of and they grow so fast Also their beauty is unmatched. I just love how I much info you give us. These rare plants are such a dream ❤️
Always wanted a strawberry shake but no one ever has them for reasonable price😭 I couldn’t hold back and ended up with a tissue culture thai that I have been babying and now prices have gone way down and I did have some regret, but I’m okay now with it and it’s doing really well for me!
I have some for reasonable prices. If you’re in the US and want one, hit me up on Instagram. I have way too many to keep at this point. Seriously, let me know!
I think at this very moment my top Philodendron wishlist plant would be a Philodendron lynamii and my top Anthurium wishlist plant would HAVE to be an Anthurium ace of spades ❤
Hey! So I actually bought it as Anthurium Versicolor Sp. Napo but a lot of people tell me it’s the same thing so I’m glad to hear at least one person doesn’t think it’s the same thing!
Also your strawberry shake and glorious from the other most recent vid are just making me DROOL!!! I have a splendid but now I'm wondering if I should have gone for glorious instead 😅
I love the Burle Marx mint, I hope the prices come down. I have a Ficus Shivereana Moonshine I'm obsessed with, has similar variegation, the mint smoothie color. I just got a one leaf cutting of the Albo variety, can't wait till I get new growth on it.
Since I'm not interested in going into the rare plant propagation business or wealthy enough to spend that kind of money on a plant, I'll make do with the beautiful plants that I've raised over the decades that make my home a Garden of Eden...especially in the dead of winter 😄😄
Thank you! That’s so kind of you to say! Not sure how consistently I’ll be able to upload going forward but I want to focus on doing more informational content like this. I’m pretty active on Instagram though!
So glad that you're back! Just wanted to let you know, if you're not already aware, that you're missing an F on the sign behind you. Love your channel!
Haha! Yeah, I think it might have gotten vacuumed up. I need to dig out the box and see if there’s another “F” to replace it. Congrats, you are only the second person to notice!
Hi! I love your videos and omggggg that beautiful shake is def on my wishlist. ❤ I always learn so much from your videos! You have started my el Choco obsession! 💕💕💕
Glad you're back! It's fun to see the crazy expensive rare philodendron. I've slowed down my plant buying so I'm not tempted to buy anything that expensive, but maybe the prices will drop into the double digits someday! xD
I saw tiny one or two leaf cuttings for 400€ and they were... Sorry - ugly! The variegated micans were much nicer but those were 500€ for the same type of tiny plant
Welcome back! Obviously so much research went into this video - well done! 👏 👏👏 What is that lobed plant in the background between your strawberry shake and anthurium?
Thank you, Yuri! It’s the Anthurium Versicolor Sp. Napo from Tropicals. I got it at the orchid show in April. A lot of people think it’s probably the same thing as the Anthurium Gigi that Ecuagenera sells. I’m going to show it more in the next video!
Your video came up in my feed - lucky me! A new channel to watch about plants and a chance to win one of my wishlist plants Philo Strawberry Shake! Yahoo! Subscribed 😀
My favorite Philodendron is my Glorious and Splendid! It grows so well and is not nearly as picky as some of the parent plants 🪴 thank you! love you and your videos!
I just came across your channel and I love it. I looked up all the philodendrons on this list and they’re stunning. I hope I win the strawberry shake philodendron. It’s been on my wishlist for awhile.
So glad you are back! I just searched up your channel last week to see if you were back yet. Like magic.... here you are! I love these cool trend videos! It's crazy to hear how much some people pay for "rare" plants! If only right? Hope life is treating you well! I love hearing about plants that grow fast or are a pain in the butt so if you ever don't have lots of time, pick the favorite or the problem child of the moment & tell us why! That would be a fast easy topic because it is just about your experience! Plus, we always enjoy anything you put out. Thanks for taking time to make us a video!
I acquired a pink Micans in a trade and it’s showing small signs of pink. I got it as sticks and was so on edge watching it grow 😅😂 I’m stoked to see how it grows out 💗
Glad to seeing you again girl!!! Prices are going berserk depending on varigation on philos, but varigation on anthuriums well I think it doesn't suit the genus at all. Anthurium hybrids are stunning as they are ,varigated ones are in my opinion like sick and suffering, my opinion entirely 😄
Happy to see you again! I just purchased my most expensive philodendron, the polypodiodes! I tend to like weird leaf shapes over variegation. I do have Jose Buono and he is very a very well-behaved, low drama plant.
I love your channel! I know you said that you're not necessarily going to be super consistent in your other vid but I don't care! So far I've LOVED every thing you post!
Thank you so much! I am going to try and post twice a month. I think that’s a really reasonable amount of work for me but we’ll see how well I can stick to that! Thank you for your kind words about my shake and glorious! I will be honest, my splendid does not look so great right now, but that’s because it’s not getting enough light and I didn’t use the plastic cover trick on the pole so it never attached. Splendids are incredible too. Just be a little patient and if you need to restart it in a prop box, you can do that and then pot it up with multiple in the same pot. Hope that helps! I’m sure it will grow more in the spring as well 😊
@@PlantFriendDownTheStreet well I'm subscribed now so I will definitely get an update whenever you post 😁 I think that's a great idea to propagate it I have it in a little vintage greenhouse right now and I think it would probably have enough space to start a little propagation in there as well so it could stay in the same climate and hopefully be happy! It's in the middle of putting out a leaf but maybe after it's done I will chop it 😅
Welcome back!!! I think of all the plants on this list the one I’d hope to get one day (besides the insane last one lol) is the variegated Billietiae. Becuz the normal one is so easy going and so beautiful.
I would not keep a Persimmon Princess if someone gave ot to me. Ithink it is ugly. And even if I had money to burn, I would not buy a Firebird or especially the V. Pink Micans. The one that, if I had the money, I really love is the V. Burle Marx Mint.
Thank you for the info, these are very informative! I just stumbled upon this video a year late! I find that starting a plant hobby in the US is really expensive.. even for the more common house plants like pothos. Say for something like a manjula or global green we get a lush mature one for around 4-6 dollars, and the giant ones for around 14-16 usd and that’s already expensive here but I heard from my friend in Wisconsin that’s already a bargain. I know tropical plants are way cheaper in southeast asia even the rare ones because it’s endemic here even the one from Florida.. but the mark up in the US plus the changing seasons would really cost a simple hobbyist a fortune in my own opinion :’(
The amount of money that has been tipped into the bin by “plant collectors” who are new to growing plants, is staggering. If you can’t spot viral issues vs variegation…or, are unsure about potting medium, growing needs and other basic gardening techniques, you should start with hardier and cheaper options until you get more experience. The Monstera albo debacle is just one example of this and there were plenty of predatory sellers who fed this ongoing heartbreak.
Hey! I think I talked about this in the “the plant community has a scam problem video”. For me, I mostly buy in groups that are more local so everyone in the group is kind of known to each other and sometimes I will ask for references if it’s a bigger purchase. Hope that’s helpful!
Thanks for the reply. I just watched the video. It has so many great tips. I recently got taken by an etsy stop. MonsteraShouse. I purchased a thai constellation. I and several of the reviewers received fake tracking numbers. Long story short the etsy store is now selling "custom air jordans sneakers."
