Mechabellum is different in the sense that it's not about lightning reflexes, a special OP build or how good is your APM so it's more about truly learning the game, it's more like a TT game. I agree that smurfing brings little to nothing positive to the table and there are plenty of options to test and experiment. A quick deployment in testing grounds with a database of scenarios per MMR and round could help, they already have starting formations recommended by players so there's something of that already working.

Agreed. Don't take MMR that seriously. If you define yourself by that number you already lost. Besides if you find a "new strat" that carries in low MMR, then jump back... well you are in for a rough ride.

Yeah, probably. Scorpions are pretty good against units like sledges or typhoons, but melters are probably better against giants.

@@GophTheGreat I don't know I think it would have been fine but the fortress snowballed with the levels to the point it became unkillable. Maybe acid was better than double shot - also I think typhoons were a weird choice as Grubby mentioned.

Meters aren't great against fort. If you have the rocket punch or enough chaff the meters will die.

​@@antares3030 Then it becomes a chaff war. Fortress and its techs are better at winning the chaff war than Melter. Vulcan Melter can work if the Vulcan lives long enough to win the chaff war. This assume aggressive Fortress of course.

Barriers would have blocked most of the smoke where it could have been useful. It was still kind of useless as used though, yeah.

Rhinos are only 200 at least. I'm pretty new myself, but it feels like 200 for a unit that while easily countered can outpunch most things in the same weight class if they're able to get close is still good. Some Rhinos when you have a good vulcan clear or something can get some work done if they aren't heavy on high damage or air units. Definitely fall off as the game goes on though, and as I say, easily countered. Always have Phoenix or Hackers pop up if I'm seeing value in my Rhinos.

Typhoon for me is the worst, it uses the same slot as the Wraith but without the tools of the Flying Pancake and gets killed by everything that kills a Wraith and more. Rhinos and Worms are ok but are situational, they usually shine in specific circumstances like asymmetric assaults against the weaker side, flanking suicidal Rhino that takes out a bunch of stuff or Sandstorm disruption.

If you get mass produced rhino card with junior production spec, you can spam rhinos for 50. Sure, lots of card combos are prob, but mass rhinos just does it for me.
