I FINALLY was able to buy this in the USA, as of early October/late September 2022. I should add, again ..my stepfather was a retired LAPD motor cop, and he worked on the "Knight Rider" show, among others ..including "Baywatch". Also? "Back to the Future". He was amazed by the frozen DeLorean scenes.
Last 2 bits installed are the track bar (panhard rod) bracket and the floor for the spare tire compartment (I had to replace that thing... total pain cutting like 30 spot welds). There will be 2 bars coming off of the rod bracket, one will screw to the chassis on the left behind the wheel and another one to the rear axle (first bar is the track bar brace and second one is the actual track/panhard bar). Kind of weird how there's no real upper support for the turbine assembly. At least as of yet. I'm betting that the one bit you left loose is going to hold one or both of the parking brake "cables" as that's near where the left side cable bolts in...
I would LOVE to see that automotive turbine engine (and its accessories and exhausts) made to 1/25th scale for installation in the original MPC Knight Rider model kit, as well as other 1/25th scale model car kits as an aftermarket custom accessory. Currently, the only way to do this is to locate an old Jo-Han Chrysler Turbine kit, and those are getting harder and harder to find . . . . Thanks for posting this!
Comment on the turbine engine. You know on the TV show you could not see K. I. T. T engine bay was never shown. Even when something happened to KITT ! So my mom bought me the model car. K.I.T.T ENGINE WAS A REGULAR 82 TRANS AM MOTOR ! There was an option for A turbocharger on the engine. A chrome piece that sat on top of the motor. That was Depressing for a teenager in the '80s! What make this model exciting for me is to see they took time to do the fictional engine. The turbine engine looks like a ram air induction!!!! WOW !!!!!! Also turbo boost and high burst SPEED makes sense! The teenager in me finally has closure. Lol 🤣😆
Yeah, they never showed the engine. Even when kit fell into the acid bath and died there. Or the attack from Goliath... I've seen pics of another Kitt model - smaller scale, I think - with a futuristic looking engine, but completely different to this one. Have a search.
If you watch the fanhome build, most of the pipes are cut down in length. Doesn't tell you that in the magazine, not sure how much difference it makes. Still a better build than the F40.
In France they hav the semi trucks collection+they also brought out the knight industry's truck or lorry in1:43scale. You might still be able to getta hold of1on Ebay
superbe video nous en france ont est au numero 83 na na na lol j ai toujours un grand plaisir a regardé tes video qui mon inspiré a faire ma chaine youtube aussi gros like de posé
Have you seen the Knightrider historians channel on youtube? They search for props from the show, and they've just found the trailer for the truck. They already have the cab, and they looking to restore both to their show liveries.
Hi Wayne. Think you’ve missed short radiator tube. There’s wiring errors in the instructions. Step 28 - 10 is totally contradicted by 29 - 3. Cable 28l can’t go to 3 pins. I ended up watching Fanhome video 28/29- they cut the tubes different to what was supplied, but very good visual guide to get everything connected. Recommend.
@@WorldofWayneUK Hey Wayne. Since you found the error, could you please let us know the correct connections? I followed the steps of the instructions, but when I reached article no 66 where you connect the front and reach brakes, I found out that the front brake was actually installed on the battery. I found out that 28I connections contradict in articles 28 & 29 as Robt8593 mentioned above. Do we eventually remove the positive battery cable from one of its connections stated on 28-10 instructions and connect it to the battery?
There's a guy here in the states who's found the original truck and trailer from the series and is trying to restore it he also has kitt from season 4 if memory serves me.
This pack was definitely tricky. Those pipes were not well labelled in the magazine. I had to watch the official fanhome video for it. They had the guy cutting the pipes down which made it look neater overall. Also I hate to point out mistakes, but you have the black transmission pan the wrong way round. Also there was instructions to attach one of those 3 thicker pipes when mounting the engine. Easily done, this was a complicated pack Hope you can sort it out simply 👍🏻
@@renefrijhoff2484 over at the Fanhome UK RU-vid channel. Under the playlists they have the official build videos for Kitt, currently goes up to about issue 66 I think.
Not only quite clear. Stage 28 as well as stage 30 had errors. For stage 28, there were errors in the naming for the pipes and the parts called 30A and 30B are switched. In the instructions in step 1, 30A is mentioned however 30B is shown. The same for step 3, 30B is mentioned however 30A is shown. The parts themselves are correctly placed, but the naming is wrong.
At the 8:36 mark in your video, look at Stage 12...the Sump should be in an orientation that tapers along with the bottom of the transmission. CLEARLY looked odd the first time I saw you put it on. May have the l-bracket inside wrong as well. You're gonna be tearing down quite a bit to fix that all that, I'm afraid.
It's weird this not being in the US yet. Mind you the DVD of the Battle of /Britain/ was released in America first. Go figure. Some decisions make no sense.
In issue 29 you attach hose 28I into the battery. In issue 28 both ends of 28I have already been attached to 26H and 23C .... does anyone know what hose actually attaches to the battery port nearest the engine I think possibly 28H and 28I have been switched in the instructions. That would solve it if 28I is supposed to go from the compressor to the battery
Stage 28 is the first stage I’ve started, and had to stop. After a break, I’ll figure out how to continue. The directions are horrible. I wish everything was (little hoses) were labeled in some way.
damn ı wanted to this so much ; but its onkly avaıble ın 5 country and they dont send without subscription (it would be good if theysend all parts in single shipment
I wish they put a real life engine in the model. I know that KITT has a turbine(as per the show) but it still would be nice for a real engine. Thank you for the videos, they are very helpful with my build….. and I’m debating on whether or not to do the Titanic after KITT is done. I’m also currently building a KITT from a 91 Firebird… so I’m doing the 1/8, and a full size! Thanks again….. I’ve been following you since the beginning of the DeLorean build from Eaglemoss.
most magazines have so low parts inside at 1 magazine was just 2 plastic parts very small and that was all and i pay 13 euro no wonder thats 110 magazines and need 2 years before done.. more parts in a magazine and you can have it done in 1 year and need just 50 magazines, fanhome know why they do that so that you build 2 years..
