Because time change era change... people mindset also change.... Today's pepole can't seat 8 hrs in a seat to watch odi... Because they are busy.. all gadgets are available in hand which destroy your mindset to seat 8 hrs in one seat

I watched Fanie in his first season and he was high 140s then and such a character.. during a match at Kingsmead he hid the ball in his pocket and bowled a delivery with a tennis ball which had the bemused batsman ducking in shock much to the laughter of everyone.During the Aussie test match he was playing in he took a walk to the hotdog stand barefoot with plasters around each of his toes and bought a hotdog and coke whilst amiably chatting to fans! Waited his place in the que as well.

Fanie devilliers was the best one day bowler of 90s and one of the best of all time, never seen a bowler in last 30 years, so difficult to score against!!!!!

I remember even Sachin in attacking mode in his prime form struggled to score against him. He was very accurate and out swings + slower balls were too tough to handle. He always struggled to take wickets but almost impossible to score against.

I can almost guarantee that that 35000 strong crowd carried SA through to victory. Many cricketers will tell you that theres no more intimidating atmosphere in cricket than a packed Wanderers "Bullring" stadium. Sadly an ODI will attract half the crowd nowadays. To be honest ir was brilliant bowling by Fanie but nowadays 2 or 3 of those deliveries might have disappeared with the way modern guys set up to get under the ball.
