Padres fans across Downtown San Diego share their reactions to Fernando Tatis' suspension after testing positive for a performance enhancing substance.
Who fuckin cares honestly? There’s kids and people dying from hunger, and this is what the news is talking about . A FUCKIN BASEBALL PLAYER WHO MAKES MILLIONS!?’ MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON OUR SOULS
80 games is no joke. The only players with longer non-lifetime suspensions are Alex Rodriguez, Jenrry Mejia (eventually banned), Marlon Byrd, Francis Martes, and Robinson Cano all received 162-game penalties, and 100+ game suspensions were levied against Miguel Tejada, Manny Ramirez, and Guillermo Mota. For domestic violence, Domingo Germán: 81 games (January 2020) Sam Dyson: 162 games (March 2021) Trevor Bauer: 324 games (April 2022)
The list of MLB players busted for "clostebol" is short. The most notable is NL batting champion Dee Gordon of the Florida Marlins in 2016. He served an 80-game suspension.
They are angry and disappointed now, but a year later, they'll bash any opposing fan that calls him a cheater. Just look at how astros fans react when people still call their team cheaters.
You can tell because he succeeds? Nah his success is a change in approach to hit more oppo HR's (Yankees right field fence is the easiest one to hit over in MLB) and increase contact. He's so big he simply has to get under the ball and half the time it's gone.
I dont agree with what one of the fans said about him coming back and being forgiven when he "starts hitting homeruns". There are layers to this whole thing that are unprecedented...so I dont think his road back will be easy, first of all. And once all of the questions ownership and management, have to ask, are responded to, his entire focus could go in one of two ways...he could bounce back and be himself..or he can become "the Ryan Leaf of MLB" . But to be brutally honest?..I dont think he returns to being the player he was....I think this incident will haunt him psychologically....too many people have been lied to in various ways...and in my opinion, he's even been manipulative, where his health is concerned...as he made it seem like it was MLB's fault that he wasn't able to get his wrist straightened out, during the lockout. That is not true. Im also pointing to the letter he had posted on Twitter, where he tries to pass the buck on "something unknown" in the "medication" he took for ringworm. Well, I dont even believe he had ringworms...and lastly, he could've endeared himself to the fans to some extent if he had just admitted he took STEROIDS, because he was desperately trying to get back to the team. But he didnt...and he lied on top of a lie.
80 game suspension, so May of 2023 at the earliest? By the time his suspension is over, he will have played in just 273 of the Padres’ 578 regular season games. He made his debut on opening day in 2019, so that's only 47 percent of the games he could have played in. These fans have the right to feel all these emotions. Let's go Padres!
If the baseball Gods truly had a heart, or a sense of humor, the Padres would win the World Series this year and all the players that played on the team including, Gore, Abrams, Voit, Hoz etc would get World Series rings EXCEPT for Tatis, since he didn’t play on the team this year. Wouldn’t that be like baseball poetic Justice???? Think about it..
@@bennyg3955 ENHANCERS AND SHOOTING UP/JUICING ARE DIFFERENT BRO COME ON. HE ALSO HAD RINWORM RIGHT SO UNLESS YOU KNOW FOR A FACT HE TOOK ENHANCERS TO COME BACK QUICKER OR DID IT COME OUT IN HIS SYSTEM BECAUSE OF THE MEDICINE? YOU DONT KNOW AND I DONT KNOW BUT IDIOTS ARE ALWAYS QUICK YO ASSUME
NOT CALLING YOU AN IDIOT BRO JUST SAYING ALOT OF PPL SEEM TO KNOW EVERYTHING AND JUICING IS WHEN YOU SHOOT UP ANABOLIC STEROIDS USUALLY THIS IS NOT THAT CASE. REGARDLESS HES BECOMING A LIABILITY AS OPOSED TO HELP
The reporter was checking her phone several times as she was reporting. What conversation was she involved in on her phone. I seriously concerned she got bad news in that moment
“How would steroids help with ringworm..” maybe these people don’t realise that steroids are the most common treatment for ringworm. True or not, it’s a legit excuse.
If it’s true then I would not question it. What makes many fans angry is that if you are using it for a condition why they don’t inform the league executives that he would need to take a steroid and get a clearance from his doctor.
@@lajaunescott9273 absolutely agree with that. It doesn’t absolve the stupidity of not checking the meds especially when you have all the resources in the world to do it. It just sounded really dumb to me hearing people apply their “medical expertise” in these cases .
Tatis tried to say he got popped cause he had ringworm and he took "Clobetasol" to treat it. Clobetasol being a topical corticosteroid to treat skin infections. Like people aren't going to know or google that he got popped for "Clostebol" a synthetic anabolic steroid found in the blood stream and now detectable in urine. The same thing widely used in the East German state-sponsored doping program, a designer drug. This drug won't even help heal his broken wrist as anabolic steroids don't heal bones but help stimulate muscle growth as it mimics testosterone. There's a difference between a corticosteroid cream and some synthetic steroid found inside your system. So people can definitely call bs on that.
The only surprise is that SD Fans are surprised? Dominican players have been cheating since Sosa’s HR chase and A-Rod’s investigation exposed this. Sosa, A-Rod, Manny Ramírez, David Ortiz, Bartolo, Guillermo Mota, Wilson Delgado, Robinson Cano popped twice and is still allowed to play and still keeps his $240 million contract. Now Tatis Jr whose excuse makes it worse. 15-20yrs later, same issues just better cover ups…while clean players on his own team look below average compared to a juiced up Tatis Jr. Tatis Jr’s $340 mil contract should not be guaranteed when his performance was fraudulently achieved with PEDs. Not fair to clean players who hit only 20Hrs naturally but get only 1/3rd the salary because they look too human. MLB still hasn’t changed
True that that statement was pretty much his publicist writing it for him you know he's been on that juice for a while now and those MADRES fans think that San Diego is going to the World Series wow okay
Once upon a time! There was a guy that played for the padres named tatis. This story is kind of similar like Cano’s. Except the ringworm part. Cano started with a 80 game suspension although he said he had no idea that he took substances, but after that, his whole career went down the drain. It’s ironic, how both stories have so much alike. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️.
The guy at 1:33 my boy he didn’t have to go talk to dirty players from other teams, he had Cano right next to him , you know the same Cano that got caught a couple times on Roids
Dude is basura! If the Madres know what’s best for them, they find a way to cut ties with him and use those funds to invest in Soto. Soto is a proven commodity, he’s a WS champion, same age, and best of all proven to be a responsible decision-maker.
As a dodgers fan for 27 years I gotta say I love the pain and agony the padres are going through because of all the shit talk about how they were going to beat us in the playoffs once “tatis comes back” now you all gotta lay in shit just like the white boys back at Woodstock 99 lol 😂
And it's still fuck LA all day 💯 LAmes got nothing else to do but talk shit & see they're team get slapped in the playoffs every year 🤣 watch us win the WS without Tatis, then wtf you gonna say?
You Dodger fans crack me up lol. Yes you have beat us but you guys havnt won shit either lol last time you won it all was over 30 years ago. Most of you guys were not even around then. And don't try and count the stupid 60 game season lol. No one cares if you win the divison or get in the playoffs. All that matters is if you win it all and you havnt done shit either lol. Lets be real. Im a Padres fan and I know we suck we are inconsistent but you guys haven't doe shit either lol
Oh trust me a lot of people will still care, as they should. You can choose to be in denial if you want to as a fan(don't mean you specifically), but it won't change the fact of the matter
I guess a small market in the far corner of the country might forgive him. His legacy will forever be tainted, HOF shot almost certainly gone, he'll get mocked forever for that "ringworm" crap, any success he ever has will be questioned and scrutinized. Fans, teammates, coaches, GM will never know if they can trust him again. He'll lose endorsements and sponsorships. And he'll probably injured himself doing something stupid again. Not to mention the shoulder surgery he needs after dislocating it - it's a ticking time bomb. Or all of his kid fans he has watching this embarrassing mess play out during an exciting Padres run. But yeah, most of the fans at PetCo Park will probably forgive him eventually lol. But make no mistake, he's screwed. Good thing he has all that money.
As a proponent of fair play in sports i must say dat I saw dis coming cuzz da numbers dat these guys as Trout Otenani Puljos to name a few twas just unrealistic ang if jou had any common sense then jou would tinking dat thems guys is on PED's but most of the fan boys are refusing to believe dat their " heroes " are cheatin as their judgement is clouded by their bromance and infatuation wit their "guy" yea
Greatest players in any sport are great because they play for championships not money, money follows. Today just like everything else everything is backyards. To much money to fast proves it. Just count how many disappear after their first payday 🤣
Tbh I believe him, he wouldn't just wanna throw away his amazing career over an enhancement drug that is weaker than steroids & and he does actually have ringworm, all of his other test were negative so he wasn't "cheating" when he was actually playing. I know when he comes back I'll be cheering for him and most fans will be also. I forgive him but he has to learn from his mistakes.
He tested positive for Clostebol, but the drug that's used for ringworm is Clobetasol. He probably googled it really quick to try and save face for himself But yeah it sucks to see a star player like Tatis do something like this
I’m really disappointed, not in just the situation, but the poor decision making by Fernando tatis. The team offers you supplements and medications for reasons like this. It’s the negligence on his part that upsets me. But I don’t know why everyone is acting like he’s sticking himself with needles, like all he took was a skin cream that had a steroid in it. It’s completely different.
Also he suffered a great deal of breakage in his wrist I bet he can't stand the contact of the impact of the bat and ball. Just saying he wrecked very badly now he's just acting, lying and trying to buy more time to heal.
as long as 1 cent of that teams operations didnt come from taxpayers money its a team thing to iron out? maybe as volunteer money from fans who bought tickets and merch was in on it and have faith in his ability to win games?? maybe they should have a say and vote as to what happens to him? shame on him and his credibility? pants on fire
As a young kid who loves this game as much as most of you do, Tatis jr was a player I looked up to, and tbh even tho this situation is crazy I still feel like they should put him back on the field.
The owner and management knew what the players were doing because they were informed that some players did take injections and other substances and the owner and management didn't do anything so don't blame the players blame everyone involved too
Why does it seem like the MLB fan is being punished as well? We are being punished by not being able to enjoy watching one of the best young stars of the game. Punish the player in the wallet but do not suspend the player -- it's hurting MLB and the fan!
2:00 The Smartest thing said was from a Raider Fan LOL I feel for Padres Fans cause They Have Manny "Bleepin" Machado whos was a Dodger but won't Hustle to save his Life!
thank god the fans at least didn't buy his bullshit excuse. Ringworm treatment? haha, c'mon bro you gotta come up with something better than that. really?
