Never heard of anabolic steroids being commonly used to treat skin conditions. I was prescribed cortisone cream once and got all kinds of warnings from the doctor and pharmacist not to use too much and that's a hell of a lot more mild than an anabolic steroid, that's also not used for ring worm. @richardtherichard26 Год назад
Steroid creams are a VERY common treatment for skin conditions. Cortisone in particular. But theyll even give you steroid PILLS for severe reactions to poison ivy. And the kicker is, they work just like anti biotics. You have to take the whole cycle in order for it to work properly. My family all have psoriasis and severe seasonal eczema. Steroids are the MOST common treatment for rashes. See steroids don’t just magically make you strong they speed up all the natural processes in your body. Including the natural healing process. That’s why players will take them to recover from injury quicker. It’s not that it helps build muscle it helps to do it FASTER. Just as a rule of thumb, Anything with “zone” or “sone” on the end is probably a steroid. Cortisone is a steroid… you were prescribed a steroid… and it’s not NEARLY as “mild” as you believe it to be. Nfl quarterbacks are given cortisone to help throw a football. Pitchers are given cortisone when they have a dead arm. Cortisone is MUCH MUCH more powerful than you’re giving it credit for.

I find it interesting that in a lot of suspensions in the past the MLB (or player) release how trace/minor the amount of the substance found was in their system. Yet here there’s no mention. Was there a lot? Too much to just write off as “oh I was using it for ringworm”?
@IndepenisDay

@brianeleighton
@brianeleighton Год назад
They don't give any notice at all for tests. They show up at your door and take both a urine and a blood sample. Supposedly the test he took was in March. My guess is that this all ties into the motorcycle stupidity. He knew his wrist was jacked up from the crashes and he probably thought they wouldn't test during the lockout. He started taking this to try to speed up the healing on his wrist...at which point there was a knock at the door. He was probably hoping that he could take this, heal his wrist and wouldn't have to tell the Padres all of the stupidity he did in the offseason since his wrist would be fine. Unfortunately, he hurt his wrist bad enough to require surgery, no amount of steroids will heal that injury. Now he has a worst case scenario. He still needed surgery AND he got popped for the steroids.

Dude is what 23-24 years old, got over $300 mil, is the face of a franchise, cover of a video game and overall one of the most popular players in the sport. All that at his age is a lot and it’s become abundantly clear that he hasn’t fully matured. The Padres are no longer tatis’s team. That role now belongs to either machado or Soto. It’ll take a lot from tatis to get that role model status back. At the moment he is nothing but a talented player who let the fame and money get to his head. Mind you I’m aware Soto is around the same age, but soto actually acts like a professional who’s been in the game for awhile. He has class, has never messed up off the field and always plays. I still think he’s a phenomenal player but so was Bonds and A rod. When you do something stupid like this it casts a shadow over the player and the fan base that supports a cheat. And even if he wins us a ring it’s gonna come off as something fake. opposing fans won’t give it validation. it just shtty being a padre knowing us winning our first ring could have a asterisk over it. I don't know how old you are and how long you've been a Padre fan but as a lifelong Met fan of over 54 years nothing surprises me anymore. Even though I cheered for Mike Piazza and Jose Reyes I came to the conclusion that both juiced big time. Piazza went from a 62nd round draft pick, who was drafted at the urging of Tommy Lasorda because he was friends with Piazza's dad Vince back home in Pennsylvania, to the greatest hitting catcher of all time. No catcher ever put up the kinds of numbers that he did. The guy would hit .360 with 40 hr's and 120 RBI's. And I saw Reyes in 2011 when he hit .337 and won the batting title in his walk year. A few years ago Met pitcher Jenrry Mejia received a lifetime ban after being caught for a third time in a year. They don't stop and they don't care if they get caught. Tatis is making around 340 million dollars over his contract. He has a lot of talent and ability no question but he has a lot to prove to prove to be become a teammate and title of a pro ball player. Did the steroid really give him that much of an edge?

I hope this young man matures from this. Some guys never do. It would be really sad to see him get a season long suspension or worse, an indefinite suspension like Jenrry Mejia for having a 3rd violation. It's just bad for Tatis, the Padres, and baseball in general when he's not playing every day. I'm disappointed in him but I hope he can learn from this and grow (without the use of roids jaja).

If you are innocent, you defend yourself like you are innocent. You show outrage at the injustice of something. Also, your coach doesn't immediately put out a statement that basically assumes that immaturity was part of this, meaning a bad decision that Tatis should have known better than to do. That can't be about a misused medical cure for something. I think he knowingly did steroids and is accepting the penalty immediately just like a guilty person would...because he is guilty.

I can't wait for the _"Ster-oids! Ster-oids! Ster-oids!"_ chants during Padres road games next year and beyond. Hopefully even _"Ring-worm! Ring-worm! Ring-worm!"_ That'd be hilarious. I might have to start that one, but the crowd will pick it up quickly, I bet.
