He was probably my least favorite of the boys until season four. They just didn't give him much to do before this season. But season four, he killed it. He's probably my favorite boy now, besides Steve. His acting in the last episode was incredible. It shows he can do whatever they give him, they just need to give him more.

I deal with depression and I felt so connected with Max this season. Taking away all the action and all the Vecna thing (wich is awesome) I cryied so hard as she chose to open up to love and her friends yet again. Her friends worked together to give her one last chance and she took it. She saved herself both from Vecna and from her depression. Maybe I'm overthinking, but I just couldn't help but see it as an methaphore of how depression feels.

Unfortunately you're wrong, because they brought max back from the almost-dead and the only main character who died was Eddie, and he was only brought on this season for that purpose. If the showrunners had balls they'd have actually killed Max or, ideally, someone who sucks like Lucas or Erica

I was going through a really bad depression bump when I watched this episode. I was accepting Max’s death but a little part of my was hoping for a miracle.. I was crying the whole last part of the episode. It made me feel better at the end.

When I first watched this episode, the introduction as ROBERT ENGLUND into Stranger Things was the most amazing thing ever. It's actually quite fitting and an amazing love letter to horror movies; Vecna, a monster that kills people - and in this particular series he seems to be targeting children especially - in their 'sleep' and their 'nightmares' and they bring in the man who portrayed Freddy Kruger - the child killer who slaughtered children in their dreams. Oh, bravo, Stranger Things, bravo.

i think this was the best episode of tv this year it was the best episode of stranger things period. of all four seasons this year had some great television, and for an entire season HotD probably was my favorite, but this was the single best episode of anything i watched this year. i've watched the last five minutes of this video probably twenty times, and i feel exactly the same as everyone watching i'm absolutely as riveted as the first time i watched it chefs kiss

Props and credit to Nora Felder. The very woman whose job it was to find and procure the perfect song for Max. She chose Running Up That Hill, convinced Kate Bush to allow it and thanks to her we got this awesome scene, Kate Bush gained even more fans and over £1m in sales and Stranger Things took on even more life than it already had. I’ve been coming back to this every so often and really trying to understand why it made people like me so emotional. I think I finally understand. They keep saying it’s a metaphor for depression. Once upon a time I almost unalived myself. Thinking of reasons to stay here and finish life was especially painful and I never thought I was going to get through that. I wanted out. Ready to give up. But the “light” were my friends just fighting for me to stay. Music helped so much during that time and I can rattle off so many praises for songs that helped me work through that dark time. But bottom line? Friends, I came back for them. I thought I had every reason to go but I didn’t count on how much I meant to them.
