Chuck r New Stadiums do reduce crime, but only temporarily. New Stadiums cause increased housing prices in the neighborhoods around the Stadiums in the short-run, which causes poor people to move out because they can’t afford to live there anymore. In the long-run the housing prices fall back to where they were originally, and crime goes back to where it was. This cycle pretty much happens with all new Stadiums.
all of the cities want their stadiums to be the newest biggest most technologically advanced stadiums in the world that will be torn down within 30 years, Wrigley field in chicago is different it is old and has character and thats what makes it great
This stadium looks amazing. It will definitely give way to future stadiums with a design like the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Maybe Oakland can learn from Atlanta when it comes to American football stadiums.
Well, the Raiders will not be gone immediately. You would have to wait until 2020 or 2021 to see them move out of Oakland to go to Las Vegas. It is too late to fix the stadium because of relocation.
Georgia taxpayers pay for Mercedes Benz Stadium, Philips Arena and Sun Trust Park. WASTE MONEY!!!! Braves and Falcons should stay these original stadiums. It'll save economics for Georgia Taxpayers. Sponsors spend over a billion of dollars for 2 new stadiums. Wealthy corporations? Go figure it......
actually public funding is coming from hotel taxes. so technically NON-georgia residents are paying for it. also, only $200MM is publicly funded. arthur blank, investors, and a loan is funding $850MM. another $200MM is coming from the nfl. the rest is via the sale of psl's and stadium naming rights. not bad for georgia residents.
It was a waste the Georgia Dome wasn't even that old. I heard it was just built so Atlanta could host another super bowl good grief. That couldn't have waited another 5 years or so?
Ok I still think the SEC Championship should be in the Georgia Dome. Not many ppl are gonna be worried about buying field level suites. You loose the classic atmosphere with this new stadium bc the fans are actually further away from the field and it's gonna hurt the noise level inside.

Laryan Ryan nothing can beat the Georgia Dome seats, as it goes for sitelines. Until I go (hopefully in December) I won't change my mind. Can't even to get the roof to work ffs
JS O. Trust me. When you go and experience MBS you will forget about the Dome. I already have. And the roof. They're waiting for the Dome to be imploded before fine tuning it because the implosion will help the foundation settle.
