I haven't been collecting very long, but this one is really really nice. I've noticed that with FT the articulation can very wildly from one figure to the next. I picked up their Brawn a few months ago and it had very limited articulation, less so than most mainline Hasbro releases. Gears seems to exact opposite, this one has very nice articulation! And it is also a rare occasion where I feel like the transformation on a Fanstoys is fun and relatively simple. Very cool little figure.
Seems like a solid win for FT. I’m super excited for this one, though I’m not sure why anyone would make those single piece hip flaps anymore. Are they more durable at a small scale? Parkour had the flaps rotate into the hips which I think is the best option.
I'm so happy Fanstoys got a huge W after the disappointment that was Powerglide... I only started collecting very recently, and a big part of that is due to the help from your videos. Thank you!
Awesome review. I’m so glad I started watching your channel. I’ve now successfully gone through most of your older videos, and really look forward to new postings. Thank you so much for all you do for the community!
Yeah, that vehicle mode is show AND G1 toy accurate, Gears just had his legs VHS & Chillin' back there. Probably the biggest offender of obvious robot kibble in vehicle mode. Like the original Micro Change designers got to him and just gave up. 🤣🤣🤣 Anywho, assuming that they haven't done it already, I expect that there's the obligamatory repaint - maybe even a full on retool, given how they went from Brawn to Outback - into Swerve to be coming shortly. Side note: Hasbro needs to get their lazy shells in gear and do a new Gears & Swerve in the next leg of Legacy. They're WAY overdue.
Nice review and he looks great overall but, I'll probably skip him as I just got Pipes and Brawn is coming in tomorrow. I still have to pay for my Magnificent Mecha Optimus Prime so there's that as well. If he's still available in a month or two, I'll think about it. Bought him a couple of months ago. He looks even better in hand.
Probably the most fun figure to come out from Fanstoys in a while and right up there with Jive. Would you know if they just have one designer/engineer or if they different guys in charge of specific characters?
Watch my review for more details. Looks great in both modes but the transformation is terrible and some people had problems with it coming apart at the wings. It also has multiple shades of red if that bothers you
Gears actually cost more than the previous FT-57 that's released before it though it's smaller. God these minibots are getting more and more expensive.🤦♂
