Definitely agree a 5 out of 5 figure. I’ve been transforming him back and forth cause it’s so easy which is kinda rare for FT. I really appreciate the time you take showing any possible issues during the transformation, it’s a HUGE help. FT gets a lot of slack and rightfully so for not getting the combiners out or Blitzwing but figures like this are why I get their figures. No one else made a completely separate mold for Gears and Swerve and look at what a difference it makes. Really great review TM! I can not wait for Scourge!
Havent started with season 3 minibots , including FT Outback and Pipes. Being C Tier characters, they dont resonate with me much compared to the earlier minibots. It looks pretty solid, might get this as I backtrack FTs. Very Machine Robo/ Gobots, wishing FT goes to that route too :)
If I got the finances to collect these third-party Transformers figures, this Swerve and alongside Magic Square MS-02EX Optimus Prime will be my first figures.
It’s kinda funny the aren’t afraid of copyright infringement with those Mysterion logos. You’d think HasTak would own that logo with the acquisition but who knows? Regarding the chrome, I love it on the thighs and the feet. I’m glad you put the toon pic up because he’s soooo plain with all the white in the cartoon. The chrome breakup is great! I agree with you, I think this is a great offering from FT and the chrome is better than I thought it would be. I don't think this character ever had a spotlight episode, at least that I can remember, like Gears or Powerglide. Probably explains the lack of a nostalgic connection. Great review
I don't get why the feet are chromed... thighs on the original toy are chromed but not the feet?? It feels unnecessary Edit: I don't mind the chromed thighs, but the feet bother me to no end, the chrome is gonna get scratched off
What color head are people using? I think I will go with the maroon color matching helmet even if it isn’t cartoon accurate. I’ll have to see once I get it in-hand.
Got my two FT Swerves today and transformed one. I’d give it a 4 out of 5. It’s a solid release, but it’s not nearly as well done as Gears/Variator. Issues- All the tires are still showing in bot mode, worse articulation, etc. I also had to shave the tab on the one leg to get it to lock in to the cab of the truck, it would not click into place otherwise. The sunroof fell out on one and they seem to only be attached via friction.
Only complaint I have about this figure is the feet. I wish it was white instead of chrome as it looks weird in alt mode with chromed feet. Other than that, I I can't wait to get my copy.
