Don't get me wrong, Eminem has a lot of corny ass bars. But I feel like there's a few of these that wouldve been seen as hard bars if anyone other than Em said it
depends on the personality of the rapper I feel. Some rappers could easily play these off as funny lines but em takes himself so seriously, even though he says hes trolling he still comes off as if hes trying to be serious.
the "kids in taiwan" one took me a second, I thought it was like a tasteless reference to some atrocity in Taiwan's history but no he meant "youth in asia"

I think his bars in MTBMB were actually really clever and funny for the most part lol. Definitely some corny/bad ones here and there but I can totally see why Anthony ranked it his highest album since MMLP2

IMO, if you're listening to the full song, you get why he uses these corny references. They are not supposed to be looked individually but rather looked at as references of daily life and popular themes that he somehow ties together in a smooth flow in order to get the point of the song across collectively. It's like reading a Bible verse out of context. It is poetry and must all be connected together in order to get the full context. Taking out a few lines and calling it out as stupid is not the right way to go about it. Rappers and poets make you think about things other than what their references and imagery suggests while still tying down the imagery to a memorable (sometimes stupid) play of words. This is why we are made to study poetry in class. Looking at poetry at face value is stupid and rap, in my opinion, is modern poetry at its best. Just my opinion.

Are they a bit corny, yeah, but most rappers couldn’t come up with shit that clever and he’s able to make those clever ass lines while flowing better than he ever has. I prefer Eminem’s older music but his newer stuff isn’t given enough credit IMO.
