Fantano not always right and overall too severe imo but he's consistent in his approach and that pretty much sums up the so called "big 3" debate. Kendrick is a tier up compared to Drake and Cole
Cole definitely had him conflicted the most and it makes sense cause I listen to cole albums and it really takes me a while to decide weather I liked it or not 😭
I mean, the order says it all. Kendrick is consistently great, Cole is consistently mid-to-good, and Drake can be very hit-or-miss (more miss these days).
YAH. BLOOD. GOD. and LOVE. weigh down his (and my) listening experience, he has changed his mind on DAMN. and said it's a weaker listen as it ages. While he has come around to some songs like LOYALTY. he has changed his mind on others like XXX. (citing Bono's feature as bad) and DNA. (it no longer having its original punch) which cause the album to now be seen more as a 6 for him.
Melon head has always said that these are his opinions, and music enjoyment is subjective. You can rock out to the Cocomelon song if that does it for you.
He is our father, we are lost without him. His opinion is our opinion. (but on a real note yeah, I like plenty of albums that melon gives 4s and 5s to)
According to one man… There both great artists and Drake has put out multiple albums that are just as good if not better than the latest album Kendrick had out at the time
Musically Drake is not horrible. The man is talented, he’s just not as talented as Dot and he’s way past his prime. Dont let the beef cloud your judgement
@@MINDUINgamespop rap n rnb with a luh bit of that melancholy shi Kendrick did like a couple times before he fell back into the rap, shi atleats he knows his place cuz he can’t do nun but rap 😂😂 he a better rapper but Drake is a better artist by far
Literally the only Drake project that beat Kendrick’s worst project is his absolute best project and an all time career high that we will never see from Drake again
@felixorozco4055 Cant confirm, but he's known to have ghostwriters on lots of his other projects, so if his best work was made by him, why pay people to make worse stuff?
@@Zzzzzzzzz280 Love Yourz is a great song but is a little flawed when it comes to J Cole’s vocals. Same thing with Apparently. Needless to say, still an amazing album. Just no perfect
Seeing his clips from random years, it is so noticeable how much of a different character the old Mr. Busiest Music Nerd is compared to the new one. The worse video quality gets, the more Fantano becomes "theneedledrop".
i f more with J cole, to me he makes music for the soul. Drake has a LOT of bangers, club musics, and that pop shit i dont play too much. But he made some Rap music POP too, the biggest example is 'life is good'. Kendrick make music for the hood and about society etc... but i rather J cole aprouch, touch more on the personal, make we really reflect

@@James-sj1us 3 is ridiculous, 21 songs on the deluxe and only 2-3 skips (born sinner and maybe viluminati). Albums at LEAST a 6 and that’s judging in comparison to ALL his work

@@LDmc.9 I’d really recommend giving Mr Morale another shot then, specifically songs like United in Grief, Crown, Mother I Sober, and Mirror. It’s a really personal journey through therapy and processing trauma. Also feel, fear and pride off DAMN and u of TPAB are some songs by Kendrick I’ve found really personal
Out of all the albums rated 7 or above, Kendrick has 6 of them, drake has 1, and j cole has 2. Out of all of the albums rated 6 or under, 1 of them is Kendrick Lamars, and too many to count are J Cole's or drakes. It is truly just big him.🐐
@@hope_bby but most of the time the credit of the album is given to Kendrick, he's on 5 songs and I'm pretty sure was involved in some way in the other ones.
The Big 3 is name given to the 3 biggest rappers to Prevail out the 2010s, which is Drake, Cole and Dot( undisputedly ). The term was literally coined for them 3 specifically 💀. Cole ain't start shit, y'all reaching heavy. In a fews years we may also have another big 3( Like Wayne, Kanye and Em for the 2000s).
Thanks for doing this bro, but if you were to do something like this again, you should put album titles and year in the video when they show up. Just a little critique. I couldn’t care less about the watermark, jsyk
It's the difference between McDonald's, to a chain restaurant like Olive Garden, and then you got the premium restaurant that you can only have in one place in the world

@@tateihuhwa9089contrary, don’t think he “misses” a lot. Just feel like he doesn’t really meet expectations. Like 2014 FHD is alright but the way some people talk about it you’d think they discovered the Rosetta Stone when it’s kinda… meh? Not a complete miss but not groundbreaking or anything like that at all
It's kind of half and half. He's got some amazing hits on there like apparently and no role modelz, as well as love yourz. I love a lot of the songs on the album, but it's not my favorite album of his
So let me get this you put a watermark on someone else’s content because you what? Consumed it and clipped it? Not cool homie, make your own takes and create your own following instead of leeching off others
@@big_man_on_the_scene it takes time and effort, and that watermark isn't claiming the content to be his. it's clearly stating it's fantanos. it's just to avoid all the time put in being just stolen by people who would wanna use it
I disagree with this guy about many things, but I honestly can’t disagree with him on most of these ratings and that’s a great thing in my eyes. It shows that mediocre or trash or whatever isn’t going to get praised or appreciation, the bare minimum isn’t celebrated, which is perfectly shown in his Drake reviews and some Cole reviews.
Tbh j cole is in the middle of the three he’s obviously second, the thing that makes him better than drake is that’s his calm Andy humble he doesn’t like drama, and he has more iconics than drakes and even if drake has more iconics j cole still has harder songs and hard work, even tho I’m a Kendrick fan I still take some time to appreciate this mans work, he went from underrated to overrated because of the j cole fans that never maid j coles picture look good, but if you add Kendrick’s work compared to j coles work Kendrick just has better albums.
You think Cole is overrated? I understand a lil, but to me it always seemed like Cole's discography doesn't really paint his true picture, like someone once said to me "Kendrick is more of the prodigy and Cole is the guy who put in 10000 hours of work into his craft." Now on top of that Dot has put in his 10000 too, but it is also the reason Cole has shown more growth. Dot is one of the true GOATS, but Cole sits with the all time greats. He truly is our Andre 3k
Giving Forest Hills Drive a "Strong 5 to Light 6" is pretty much where he lost all my respect for his opinions lmao. Some of the other albums he ranked lower I enjoyed but I could understand why some people dont enjoy em, givng 2014 Forest Hills Drive that low is either clear bias or lack of knowledge on hip hop.
He knows a shit ton about hip hop, this guy is very knowledgeable about so many genres, honestly what tells me whether someone is really for the culture is if they don’t think fhd isn’t mediocre, some yall just got ears that are way to easy to please and that’s how we end up with drakes and gunnas
@@Angel_3kidiotic statement. For clarity, kendrick only has 1 album to date that gets more streams weekly than FHD. What makes cole so appealing is his relatability, he’s become probably the most relatable rapper in history, we can all relate to him and part of the reason FHD is so good, that’s probably one of the only albums in hip hop that you can listen to on the way to work, on the way home, smokin a blunt? whatever tf u doin u can bump fhd and chill. Tpab u can’t do that (it’s a whole ass lecture hence why fhd gets more streams today)
@@adzappin_2567 dunno why you brought up streams but that’s just a whatever point. And now we’re judging quality off of whether I relate to this rapper or not? I can relate to dozens of other songs and rappers and they outrap him and out produce him, hell I relate to more Kendrick songs then I do Cole. And adding onto that, fhd is an easy listen like so many other albums. Smoking a blunt, walking to work, at work, you could listen to the college dropout, good kid maad city, black on both sides, Aquemini, enter the Wu tang, low end theory, they can be enjoyed thoughtfully and casually, fhd isn’t special and neither is cold. He’s good, a great rapper in fact, but if his talents stem from his relatability and when he’s allowed to be played I think there’s something to be questioned about with his praise. Also, tpab has songs that aren’t study necessary, alright, king kunta, Wesley’s theory, these walls, like I listen to many relatable songs that have way more interesting production and writing then fhd, and I used to listen to that a ton 2 years agk
@@Angel_3khe definitely knows his stuff, I sometimes think he's a bit hard on cole. But he usually makes good points. Imo 2014 fhd isn't cole's best album it's like his 3rd or 4th best imo. But people have different music taste, and even though I like cole's music more than kendricks, I still see kendrick as a more talented artist
