Pollarding is done to control the size of the trees as well as the size of the roots. It’s a very old method.

The great thing is if you pass the criteria then you can pay just 7% flat tax on your worldwide income for 10 years if you move to Abruzzo in a town less than 20,000. This is not offered by the countries you mentioned!

@@AhomeinItaly Actually my pension is not taxed at all. I can pass the criteria, it's the time limit that is imposed on gathering the many papers from different government agencies in my home country to then getting all the correct paperwork from the right agencies in Italy and having them all correctly signed and endorsed without any errors...which of course is an impossibility. The process favors people from the EU who can quickly go to their country of origin to take care of mistakes made. No allowance is made for someone from the other side of the world.
