Agreed! Plus, there's the element I've heard that the setting of the story is back in the past, like 1961. As much as I agree that origins often slow down getting to the action, I'm thrilled at the idea of a Retro time period, yet I can't imagine they'd set a story in the past but not back far enough that we actually get their origin. I think they could still do a stylized take on the origin, maybe really quick at the beginning, kinda like "The Incredible Hulk" did with Edward Norton's origin being in the opening credits. Besides, we kinda want to see Ben Grimm before he's The ever-lovin' Thing, right? And as much as I've been wanting a Retro superhero movie set in the 1960s (like the amazing Days of Future Past being mostly set in 1973!), how are they going to make it jell with what we know of the Avengers and Nick Fury, etc., if they touch on that at all? It is the writer's challenge!

I definitely understand what you are saying. I think the happy medium might be flashbacks, although I am not overly fond of it. I understand the importance of it for context. I am remembering too that there will be new viewers to the Fantastic Four and they will need to have that context to understand the characters.

I wish they could get the remaining old-time writers to write the script. Besides Vanessa Kirby, I have never heard of anyone cast in the MCU version, I can only hope The Thing looks better in this movie and they get Doctor Doom right this time.

Really? Pedro Pascal has been everywhere. A lot of folks didn't know a lot of the Avengers actors until their movies either so that's not a big concern for me. Knowing them would probably give me more concern. Which is weird, I know lol. Marvel knows they need to right the ship. They also know that there are two movies that cannot flop or else. Deadpool and F4.

I'm going to see FF under the MCU either way, but the first 2 were fun for the time and trank, I can't see his film being good w or w\o studio interference

Yeah I am choosing to move on from the old ones after re-watching them lol. However I will say it's interesting looking back. I thought the actor who played Ben Grim in Story's films was perfect for the role.

A MOVIE NO ONE ASKED FOR. No one wants to see a 3rd reboot of this. THESE CHARACTERS ARE FVCKING BORING. Thats why they never make it past one movie.

I'm seeing a lot of people looking forward to this movie. This team was very popular in the comics and those fans are looking forward to the MCU finally shedding the proper light on them.
