Now did this fantastic Labour MP, call out Tory Minister, Mark Spencer, over British fish? Well spurdogs. On the 17th of January 2023, Mark Spencer, attended a Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee. Where the topic of conversation was about Fisheries Negotiations. Where Mark Spencer, gave a ten minute ramble about how marvellous things are now that we've left the EU. Well, during his ramble, Mark Spencer tweaked Barry Gardiner when he said something that just didn't add up.

Sorry, but the fishermen (like the farmers) should have known better than to believe lifelong liars like Johnson when they were being told to leave the market that contained a large portion of their customers. Those in fishing and farming who voted to Leave did so out of selfish greed which blinded them to obvious lies.

Nothing has changed with him. About five years ago he promised his constituents to re-open the railway line and build a new station in the town of Ollerton in Nottinghamshire. Guess what? nothing has happened. Just another empty promise.

Well yes, it used to be called Rock Salmon and was a cheap alternative to Cod in the fish and chip shop, however, the decimation of the prime fish stocks have now apparently made it a desirable catch species, in the early 80's I fished out of mliford on a long liner, we were hoping for thornbacks but got endless spurdog, they were barely wrthwhile taking back, (but the skipper did though).

The biggest joke about this is that the Brexit poster boy industry of fishing has almost NO benefit to the national wealth. It accounted for 0.02% of GDP. It matters to very localised communities, but it's long been of almost no benefit to the UK as a whole. And what's more the EU gave financial support to fishing communities that it of course can no longer supply so they are worse off. Just another round in the desperation game called "Find a Brexit benefit".

I wouldn't think the eu would have UK's waters best interest in mind, dogfish are abundant for the pleasure fisherman of the southcoast beaches often the only catch used to be Rock or Rock salmon in the chip shops i think.
