It’s till looks better than any football played today, the skill and just pure intention to shoot goals like that says it all, it was amazing then it’s still amazing now, I love watching football from that era and further back, Pele was also before my time, but I can only imagine at how good he was and the teams he played in, but that 82 team for me is the the most beautiful skilled team of all time I have ever seen. The names send shivers down the spine and are legends for me.

That was one of Brazil's best teams ever, despite not having reached the semis, it was still one of the best teams worldwide.

Perreira came and wrecked Jogo Bonito of the 80s squad, saying it was the cause of Brasil's failure in 82, 86, and 90 WC, making Brazil into a European style team, which gave them good results INITIALLY (3 finals 1994, 1998, 2002, winning two) but since then Brazil has won crap (only one semi final in 2014, 3rd Place finish) by still clinging to European style of Perreira School. from what I have seen in 2022, they won't win it either. Another dull Pereiera School style team.

@@aracelymoran2504 i agree with you. we were lucky to win in '94.. but i seriously don't know how we lost the '98 edition..but luckily R9,Rivaldo,Ronaldinho& co managed to win in '2002... but lack of team players' cohesion made us lose in 2006 despite the wealth of talent..The team cohesion that we had back in the 70s & 80s is lost and gone,as you mentioned,due to adaptation to European style... i pray that some magic occurs in 2022. Tenho muito orgulho em saber que o meu Atletico MG era a base do time titular junto com São Paulo e Flamengo. Para completar a equipe tinha o imortal Sócrates do Corinthians e o rei de Roma, Falcão. Nesse time fantástico o Serginho era o mais fraco mesmo. Faltou no time não o Ronaldo mas sim o Reinaldo, maior artilheiro do Atletico MG, ou Roberto Dinamite, maior artilheiro do Vasco. Se qualquer um desses dois estivesse em condições de serem titulares na melhor de sua forma física, essa seria a melhor seleção de todos os tempos pois esses são dois dos melhores atacantes de todos os tempos. Serginho, apesar de ser um goleador também, maior artilheiro do São Paulo, perto deles era um jogador comum. Serginho era aquele jogador de área, de 1,94 cm, com alguma habilidade .

If I'm not mistaken, this Selecao side was formed in 1979 by Tele Santana to win the WC82. Just that Enzo Bearzot unleashed the legendary Paolo Rossi at the perfect time to send the star studded Brazilians packing. One of the greatest World cup match along with the semifinals btwn France and West Germany. Epic!

+Mindia Abshilava Sure was. Was just one of those days where Italy and Paolo Rossi had a great day getting out of a slump and never looked back after that. Prior, they didn't show signs of greatness other than history pushing them. Had brazil merely tied that game, they'd too be unstoppable and win it all.

People forget that the final result of a World Cup doesn't nearly tell the whole story. Brazil's 1982 squad was superb, it doesn't matter that they didn't win it, it still was a dream team that would be on the top 5 squads of all time.

What can I say mate. I was two years older than you at that time , but even being so young I fully appreciated the skills of those Brazilian artists. Although they didn't win , they will always stay in my memory as absolutely matchless uncomaprable by anyone and simply perfect. No other football team has made such an impression on me as they did then. The only comparison which comes to my mind is basketball team Chicago Bulls in the 90s.

That’s how I became a fan of Brazil , I cheered as an 8 year old kid in Kolkata, India. The games were in early morning, I would sleep late in the day to be ready for the next early morning again.

Somos assim. O Brasil já deixou de ganhar várias Copas por causa da desorganização. Mas fiquei feliz por 2006 ser da Itália. Gosto muito da Itália e, realmente, era uma grande seleção.
