This one is different from the usual as it is a review of a lens I have recently bought and have used for over the passed month.
That lens is the Sigma 16-28mm F2.8 DG DN Contemporary Lens, a well priced ultrawide zoom lens for L Mount caameras. Anyway if this is a lens you are interested in I hope this review helps you better inform your purchase.

Great work Zakari, beautiful scenery. I'm planning on this lens as my ultra-wide; I was tempted by the new 14-28mm f4-5.6 but think the f2.8 of this lens will be more useful than the extra 1mm on focal length.

Thanks Scott. I am glad you found it useful. It's a far tougher choice than it seems as I do love my ultrawides and at times have found the 16mm not enough to kind of warp the scene for a particular composition. I say try both if you can but this is hard to beat in terms of price.

Oh yeah i am very keen to see this rumoured camera and how this lens will perform. I reached out to Sigma Australia about any firmware updates to maybe resolve or reduce it and never got a response

@@theXvisions well like you said maybe a new af system may work better with the motor in the Sigma like it does on the Sony.

@@theXvisions Sharpness is not that important when it comes to video. If its sharp in stills like most Sigmas then that is all that matters. These lenses are having similar issues on the new body as they don't speak the exact same language as the Lumix do when it comes to zoom. Plenty of conversations online around this. I experienced the same with using Sigmas on Sony aps-c systems. The new whizband focus systems get the wobbles with these very wide lenses as well.

Some great still shots there, out of interest do you use a filter when doing the long exposures especially the ones out in the full sun?

Thanks for your nice reviews of the Sigma 16-28 and the Lumix 18mm 1.8. I have the S1 with Lumix 24-105 and which one of the two lenses do you you prefer? More wilde with the Sigma ofcourse, and 1.8 instead of 2.8 with the Lumix.

@@ZakariKha before I mostly did video but now more photography. Landscape, city, nature, most in daylight.

The Sigma offers more versatility in that case though today Panasonic announced a 14-28mm so that might be worth looking at too. Hopefully i get my hands on that for a review soon
