Welcome to "Tales from Tuscany"!
We are Marisa and David, Australian expats now living part-time in Chianni Tuscany.
During the Global Pandemic, we decided to buy our Italian dream home, sight unseen and with no prior knowledge of the area.
This is our journey and we are taking you along with us!
TODAY'S VLOG...
WOW...just wow!
If you have spare day and a car when travelling through Tuscany, then add this to your "must see" day trips!
I was blown away and truly enjoyed every moment of today's destination - Montecatini Alto and Terme.
The township is divided into two parts - the high town on top of an ancient volcano and the lower town which houses the magnificent 18th -19th century Spa buildings (there are several) but we visited the main attraction which is TETUCCIO or the thermal drinking springs.
This town was one of the richest and most prestigious places to take the waters for centuries. It still holds the age-old elegance of the architecture and the dozens of spectacular 5 star hotels which line the streets, are testament to it's past.
I highly recommend a full day or even an overnight stay here if you really want to experience it all. We missed quite a lot because of the heat and storm and I would happily return for an overnight stay with David.
